Has there ever been a 5th/6th single from an original album (excl. songs only available on a re-release) that's done as well as 'Clown'?

Thrift Shop! It's the 5th single from the album.

Also surely Beneath Your Beautiful  And Spectrum by Florence And The Machine although it obviously would've peaked at #57 or something without Calvin's remix so doesn't count really.
 at the possibility of Clown actually going to #1 on BRITS week. Really hoping that Thrift Shop blows up enough to stop that from happening.

Gettin' Over You was a 5th single as well. I think it would've only gone top 20 without the Fergie remix though.

Bingo Players have increased their lead since yesterday. Looks like they'll get a 2nd week at #1 :)

Also I should mention Michael Jackson who plucked 9 top 40 singles from both "Dangerous" and "Bad" without a re-issue/ duluxe thing back in the day.

Not sure if it sold the most copies as sales at the time were dreadful but Scissor Sisters 'Filthy/Gorgeous' peaked at #5 and I think it was the fifth single from the album.
Clown is going to #1 after the Brits isn't it?

Are they going to be releasing all the Brits performances to iTunes like they have for the past 2 years? If they do, then Emeli will definitely get a big boost from the performance. Not only could 'Clown' climb to no. 1, but it could do so with over 100k marking it down as one of 2013's biggest selling singles - maybe million seller. :o

Have to admit it's grown on me a bit ( :drama: ) as it was played early on at the Burns Night party I went to on Saturday night. The DJ was strictly playing music by Scottish artists. Oddly no Calvin Harris but some Bay City Rollers instead!!!

They only released 4 of the BRITs performances last year for some reason (Florence, Coldplay, Olly and Blur). Hopefully they'll all be released again this time, or ideally all of them except 'Clown' assuming that gets performed :P

97. Remix (I Like The) - New Kids On the Block

NKOTB still exist?! This is a new single from them!

103. After You - Pulp

Surprised how poorly this is doing after Bon Jovi and David Bowie smashing... Even Blur at least went top 40.

I never knew Emeli was Scottish! :o

I've never heard any of Emeli's songs out (apart from her rap collabs obviously), except for once when Annie Mac was the DJ (yeah, those tickets were EXPENSIVE ), she played a remix of My Kind of Love (Gemini remix).

Oh yay, Bingo Players safe for another week at #1 then :D Their main competition will probably be 'Thrift Shop' now, not 'Scream & Shout'.

Nice lead there for Bingo Players :)
Oh dear, it doesn't say much when Pulp's new single is being outsold by a new track from New Kids On The Block. Kids? New?!!! :kink:

'Clown' was played early on, as in it was background music whilst people were still arriving. :D I'm sure 'Clown' would go down a treat in a club mixed inbetween 'Feel So Close' and 'We Found Love'.

lol. I think Heaven could sound amazing in a club though.

I haven't heard Feel So Close in quite a while come to think of it. I hear Sweet Nothing the most out of his songs atm. I want to hear Here 2 China one day. :(

Prepare yourself for top 5 year end hit, it will be number 1 in the end of the year in the US anyway.

Yeah, I think it's very likely to be year-end #1 in the US (although I thought that about E.T. in 2011 and We Are Young in 2012 and then even bigger hits came along, so I could be wrong again ). Hopefully in the UK as well, but probably not.
