January 30, 201313 yr I think Biffy Clyro have grown in popularity since the last album (maybe because of how good it was) so a good opening week for Opposites would be expected, but in this climate it'll probably fall quite quickly and sell far less overall. Still, I bought the album on Monday and have to say, it's even better than Only Revolutions in my opinion. So I really hope it can get an amazing first week sale of 100k :lol: (we can always hope)

The newly-issued 14th Floor/Warner Bros album had sold 43,577 copies up to the end of trading on Tuesday, according to the Official Charts Company, more than the combined sales of the four artist album titles immediately below it. Opposites' tally after three days compares to Only Revolutions in its entire first week in November 2009 selling 43,113 copies as it debuted at No 3, one place below the arrival and peak of the album before that, Puzzle, in June 2007. January 30, 201313 yr Top 5 singles are now movers! :cheer: Would love Rewind to hold on to a Top 15 placing; Diane Birch's vocals are great on it (very similar to Alyssa Reid's version of Alone Again, which I think was pointed out a day or two ago). Great to see Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora in the Top 20, both should make at least the Top 15 some point in their chart run (Explosions could probably make the Top 10). Brilliant to see Biffy Clyro heading for their first number one album, and a 30k+ lead probably means they will be closer to 100k than 50k, if Les Miserables at #2 does about 40k come Sunday. Rumours back in the Top 5 :wub: Would be fantastic for it to remain there for the rest of the week, it should at least stay Top 10 though, along with Justin Bieber and probably Andrea Bocelli too. Quite surprised Fleet's Greatest Hits isn't making an appearance in the chart, is it now a budget album? Alicia Keys looking at a new peak with Girl On Fire, yay!
January 30, 201313 yr I think I'm finally passed the point of being interested in the chart. There've been times before when I've gone off it and then become interested again, but these midweeks don't interest me at all and haven't for quite a while. I think I'm definitely 'passed it' where popular music in concerned.
