My Time

"OYASUMI, OYASUMI, close your eyes and you'll leave this dream"

if you thought last month's result would lead to a more 'accessible' change in direction for Trifoski - THINK AGAIN! 'My Time' is the weird and whimsical closer of Calum Bowen's 2013 album Pale Machine, taking a few fun twists and turns throughout

Now to cross my fingers for some confused reactions, while I laugh all the way to the bottom of the scoreboard!

Hello Trifoski! :hi:

Great to join you again for this contest! I’m having a listen to your entry now, and it’s certainly different to other songs I’ve been listening to so far, it’s actually rather joyous! *.* I love the carnival style that is emanating over the music of this record, it’s really quite quirky and novelty these days! I love the part when it speeds up right in the middle, and then slows back down. I hope others can buy into the idea of this song and award you points! ^_^

May you have a great 132nd contest. Sending love from Zanmatony!

Fox Stevenson

Dreamland

"Hungry people try to break me, make me kinda nervous

Just goes to show that you never can tell"

If your BJSC memory reaches back to 2014 you may remember Fox Stevenson and his entry "Tico", well we have brought him back out of the blue!

A joyous dancefloor d&b tune with a kinda rock-ish energy and introspective lyrics - basically we've served up a dance banger that won't appeal to the voters, there's nothing we can't accomplish!

Parov Stelar

Catgroove

It’s finally time for this electro swing classic from Parov Stelar, one of the genre’s most important artists!

Accompanied by an instantly memorable dance video, this fun, jazzy and non-voter-friendly banger is sure to light up the bottom of the scoreboard!

That Kid

Mile High Club

custom to layover when you fly with me

Are y'all in the mood for some sugary-sweet, sexually-charged hyperpop? Not likely, but I'm gonna give it to you anyway!

And with the lack of proper uploads, you're also getting a TRIFTV video made by yours truly *.* Why put in this much dedication for an entry that probably won't attract many votes? Because it's the Trifoski way

-X-

as an aside - we've decided to adopt Jafet's amazing fan-made effort from last month's contest as our new official flag! :cheer:

now that we have the elusive BJFest hit under our belts, we are under no pressure. this is the way you do a no-hoper entry lads

The short summer break has come to an end, are you ready for another half-year of high quality no hoper entries from Trifoski? I sure as hell am! :cheer:

Being a rather wealthy nation (and your TRUE tastemakers in the world of music - the charts don't lie x) - I have commissioned someone to design some teaser pics, just as a way of building hype and spicing things up!

I don't know much about this person other than they're a "hobby artist" and they're going for an "object show theme" ....I should probably be doing more research before I hire these people

DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ

Try Not To Be Afraid (feat. Delilah Brao, Luke Markinson & Anyelisax)

being here, with you? this is what I want my life to be

DJ Sabrina is back in the contest a few years after representing FSR Rontvia, with her lovely brand of nostalgic sample-heavy dance music (including one here from Glaswegian band Camera Obscura). It's highly recommended you check out the recent album 'Charmed' also

Try Not To Be Afraid is the ultimate of warm and fuzzy feel good tunes, its joyous vibes and 8 minute running time should be a turn-off for voting bases everywhere. Their loss!

Such a good entry, I adore DJ Sabrina so much <3

Charmed is probably one of the only three hour long albums that felt too short!

DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ - Try Not To Be Afraid

2nd, 305 points

Never underestimate Trifoski’s ability to do the improbable, thanks to a wave of support and eight 18s resulting in a first ever silver medal for us. It felt for a while our tastes no longer aligned with the voters’ (which we even started using to our advantage!) but this euphoric and emotional tune was good enough to break the glass ceiling

For all the DJ Sabrina fans this month - you’re the best, thank you and goodnight x

  • 2 weeks later...

Just popping in to say I can't get over this song, DJ Sabrina is honestly such a genius and this should have been a runaway winner. One of the best BJSC entries in years.

The intro and melody in the first minute! The strings! The audio samples! The dreaminess! The sax! The buildup! The way it slows back down and ramps back up! Genius.

Edited by gooddelta

absolutely should’ve won. it was very close to my 18 too so I’m glad it wasn’t a difference of three points anyhow.

any top recommendations from that album given its erm well a three hour long album? ain’t nobody in Danæviia got time fo that.

My personal highlights from the Charmed album are Charmed, Next To Me, How Did You Know?, Alrighty, Then! and My Baby, I Become Unhinged.

Erika de Casier

Busy

Reach for the stars, that’s what did, I didn’t know I'd get so busy

Taken from her recent album Sensational, Erika de Casier returns to BJSC with this wonderfully smooth R&B track complete with a nostalgic 2-step/garage instrumental, memorable hooks and even a harpsichord solo

Yes I'm aware mellow R&B = immediate death in BJSC, last month's result might've fooled you, but Trifoski are still your leading suppliers of high quality no-hoper entries!

I think (hope) you've got a good shot this month, that 2-step UK garage sound is really standout IMO. It's also a recent #4 hit on the Doctor Blind chart so I'd love to point this in a final that I'm hosting - sorry we couldn't get you the AQ in the end..

Erika De Casier - Busy

13th, 204 points

alongside DJ Sabrina, "Busy" has been one of my favourite summer tunes from this year, thus I felt it necessary to send it in while the season was still in motion

it likely isn't regarded as a risky entry, though its charm could've easily been lost on the voters - but i'm glad to report that wasn't the case! drawing top marks from N DNTN and Adonia, Erika edged past the 200 point mark to hand Trifoski another certified smash hit

A big thank you to those kind peeps who voted for us :cheer:
