Avril Lavigne tweeted a couple of days ago that her new single will be called 'Here's To Never Growing Up' and will presumably be the lead single from her upcoming 5th studio album! She has also tweeted that it is produced by Martin Johnson who has worked with (according to Wikipedia) Taylor Swift, Ellie Goulding, The Veronicas and especially Boys Like Girls. Also, she is looking forward to filming the video and doing the artwork!

Not a huge fan of the title, although I guess it is appropriate. Not sure if she will get much success this time round either, but well see ... she always has a few gems on her album. Wish You Were Here should have been massive.

Excited. 'Goodbye Lullaby' really was her, own 'My December'. It was a very good album, despite getting panned/doing terribly commercially. 'Wish You Were Here' is still absolutely stunning. That should have been a lot bigger than it was.

Looking forward to this though, she rarely ends up disappointing me so woo!

can't wait for this, I need some new avril in my life  especially seeing as my other favourite artists are out of the picture right now. not gunna lie though I was expecting her next single in 2024 or something after the wait we had for 'goodbye lullaby'.

judging from the title, it'll be avril doing what she does best as well. :D

So excited for this. Also thankful there wasn't a giant gap in between releases like last time!

I loved 'What The Hell', and Avril has some classics. I don't care if she doesn't progress, she's brilliant.
I'll say it again, like I did when What the Hell was announced (and I was wrong  ), I hope she goes back to Let Go/Under my Skin sound... I miss old skool Avril
Her first two albums were amazing. 'The Best Damn Thing' was great, as was 'Goodbye Lullaby'. Really looking forward to this. :D

Avril's manager has tweeted that "we will hear an Avril single before mid April"!

Also another source says that, the single is scheduled to impact U.S. radios on April 15th and to be released on digital retailers on April 16th. She’ll be performing it at The Juno’s on April 21st. Currently scheduled for this date, but may eventually be launched on 21 just after her live performance at the show. Although it would be strange as the start of promotion. Keep you informed.

Excited!!! :cheer:

Yeah, it will probably flop.

It'll do good in the US at least. Didn't her last era do well in America?

'What the Hell' was released in the UK at a time when many established stars were coming back with OA/OS releases which ultimately affected their chart positions. WTH was OA/OS right?

It was released just over 2 weeks after its premiere I believe, so it didn't have a video or much airplay at the time of release. I think it stayed in the charts for a while though as the video was released and the airplay increased.

great news :)

On her Facebook you can hear a clip of the song (it's literally, like 10 seconds long).

It sounds good. Generic Avril, but good.

Avril reminds me of Pink but not in a good way.

They both stick with the same sound time and time again. Pink somehow stays current with hers but Avril really needs to progress - and if not, then she needs to go back to the 'Don't Tell Me'/'My Happy Ending'/'Nobody's Home' sound rather than the 'Girlfriend'/'What the Hell' one. Isn't she pushing 30 now?
