One Direction at #2 now. I think they'll have it. Did this song get pre-release airplay?

It leaked before premiere but I think the first proper radio play was only on Thursday or Friday and the video isn't out yet.

And I was also surprised at it being released this far in advance of Comic Relief but it makes sense with the BRITs this week, and maybe it'll hold up better for the first month rather than tumbling down fast.

....Just listened to the 1.30 preview of 1D and it is dreadful

So, a typical OD song then...

This is where the new entries feature so far:

Little Mix – Change Your Life - 15, 278 & 681

One Direction – One Way Or Another (CDS) - 2

Sinead O'Connor - 4th And Vine - 784

Two Door Cinema Club – Next Year - 177

Tyler James feat Kano – Worry About You - 62, 251 & 282

What an incredibly awful top 3 this will be. I'm actually struggling to come up with a worse combination than this. I'm gonna sit and pray that Queen Dido will remedy this next Sunday whilst realistically knowing she won't dent the top 40.
Tyler James ft Kano - Single Version - Up to 218 :cheer:

One Direction have this in the bag but purely for becoming such a massive phenomenon 'Harlem Shake' should do well as it'll become one of those tracks that'll define 2013. 'One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)' will be forgotten about four months down the line.

Ideally, 'Thrift Shop' would return to no. 1 but that ain't gonna happen.

Any sign of Jessica Wright's Dominos?
I'd rather One Direction. I'm sorry, but even with the dances factored in that Harlem Shake business is atrocious and just noise.

That said, I do find the 1D cover dreadful, but not as much. My heart sank when they started wailing 'I wanna hold you wanna hold you tight', as I prayed it was just a random line they had thrown in and not a molestation of one of my favourite songs :(

It's a shame as I usually do quite like everything they release.

John Peel will be turning in his grave.....

Thanks. It might be able to hang around then, if it's got some promotion coming up. Their last release like this I think spent 9(?) weeks in the top 40 and peaked at #3. I hope it doesn't get more than 1 week at #1 though, I'm not sure how much longer Harlem Shake has left in it chart-wize.

I wonder if Capital FM will play this. They ignored Little Things, but they played Kiss You a lot.

Hearing One Direction is like an abortion on the ears

Agreed.

Charity is no excuse for this abomination.

JT is now 11 again, lol... even with 1D... This week he will be top 10 anyway with the Brits and JS.

Congratz go 1D for another number 1 for sure.

Don't like the idea of the One Direction medley thing (haven't heard it yet so can't comment on the actual execution) but anything that pushes "Thrift Shop" down is a good thing to my eyes.

A potentially very exciting chart week then (bar the seemingly obvious #1). "Thrift Shop" and "Harlem Shake" potentially rounding up the T3, meaning Avicii & Nicky Romero could fall 01-04, or worse; depending on the effect the BRITs have on "Clown" and "Suit & Tie".

Hopeful that "Worry About You" can reach the T40 officially this week now that the Kano version is available. I prefer it Kano-less personally, and bought the track a few weeks back at 59p; hoping it doesn't underperform too much - great track.

Is that a euphemism? :P

:kink: I may have just had to google the definition for that word

JT is performing Mirrors now, a change of track on the Brits, so I don't know what effect is going to do to S&T

Hopefully the performance of Mirrors shoots the song up to #1  It's much better than S&T! If anyone has a "Someone Like You" boost it needs to be Justin, and not Emeli!
