Wow. L Marshall and JME higher up than Wiley! :lol: No doubt that'll change by tomorrow though.

 

I'm shocked Green Garden is so high! :heart: I hear it on the radio sometimes, but I never expected it to do anything.

If Pompeii and Green Garden being released constitutes as a "crap week", then i'd like to know how you'd describe last week :lol:

 

Pompeii will be #1 next Sunday i think with Mirrors being #2.

If Pompeii were to get #1 it would need to sell around 70-80k, and there's absolutely NO WAY they'll manage that (no matter how optimistic i could try to be). Top 10 is definitely achievable, although i get the feeling Wiley will probably be the highest new entry now...

Every year that I've followed the chart there has been a lack of chart movement at the beginning of the year (and in 2011's case, at the end of the year too :drama:). I think 2013 has been better than usual, a lot of weeks so far at the start it looks like we'll just get two or three new entries, but we end up getting 6 or 7 (on air, on sale releases popping up out of nowhere, etc.), which I've quite liked. And most songs haven't stayed around for too long either, just a few like Diamonds and Beneath Your Beautiful which need to go now.

Does it really matter if Wiley is the highest new entry? Both songs can go top 10. And I think Paramore will as well, since they released on air, on sale songs before that went top 10 on iTunes.

 

I hope Wiley does well though. It's my favourite of his three singles.

Why Wiley?

 

Pompeii EP has gone straight to #1 on the album chart and the airplay for the song is good as well, i always hear this song on TV and radio nearly every day. The way i see it only Mirrors can stop this getting to #1 next Sunday.

She's in a country music TV series called Nashville so I'd guess it's from that. :)

It wouldn't be a big deal to me (although i'd prefer if Bastille dominated over everything :kink:)

I've been seeing a lot of people say that it won't do well, but I always thought of it as an easy hit tbh. It's got loads of hype, nice airplay and the promotion has been pretty decent. Someone said it'll be the "new 'Put Your Records On'" and I agree. Maybe not quite the number 2 peak, but I think number 6 and some longevity with the album performing well. (I'm gonna say 60k debut - SHOULD be enough to put it at number 1, but I'm not sure when it's released so who knows.)

 

Oh and I say this as someone who doesn't really rate 'Green Garden'. It's "nice", but it's not quite as good as others like to think it is. (All in my opinion obvz :P)

Suppose we'll now find out whether Dido can still get a top 40 single then. I hope she can just scrape top 40.

 

I doubt she'll care - it's album sales that matter...
