I think it's one of those songs that most people know, yet might not know who it's by/what it's called, especially amongst those of us who weren't born when the song was released (me notwithstanding).

This is me exactly (I already made a comment saying as much in the old thread). I didn't think it even sounded like Fleetwood Mac, then again I don't know Fleetwood Mac's music that well.

On a completely unrelated note can I direct you to the pinned 'BJSC World' thread in the BJSC forum please

Oh nice to see Swim Deep in the top 100, I quite like 'The Sea'. Unexpected.

Arlissa still not top 1500 :(

Why is everyone downloading Everywhere anyway? Not that I would begrudge it a return to the top 40, fantastic song

It's from that dancing pony advert for Three. Agreeing wit Bré in that it doesn't sound like I'd imagine a Fleetwood Mac song sounding, though I'm not exactly familiar with their music (bar the section of 'The Chain' that's featured on the opening credits of Formula 1).

212. Demi Lovato - Heart Attack (Oh dear at the release date being so far away, this could have been Demi's first top 10 single)

267. Bridgit Mendler - Ready Or Not

272. Carly Rae Jepsen - Tonight I'm Getting Over You

282. Taylor Swift - 22

285. Dappy - I.O.U

302. Justin Bieber - All Around The World

306. Nicole Scherzinger - Boomerang

438. Miley Cyrus - Party In The Usa

451. Hit Makers - What About Us

493. Glee Cast - Give Your Heart A Break (If only the Demi version managed to survive 5 weeks top 500/even get top 500 on iTunes)

510. K Koke Feat Rita Ora - Lay Down Your Weapons

769. Demi Lovato - Give Your Heart A Break

1139. Nicole Scherzinger - Wet.

Maybe #2, I think Bastille will easily get the #1 album next week.

Bastille for the #1 album next week, oh yes!

You gotta be kidding, right - against Dido, not to mention Stereophonics...

In the UK, 'Rumours' has sold about 3,400,000, & 'Tango In The Night', has sold about 2,350,000.

So, 'Rumours' is over a Million Sales ahead.

As at 9/2/13, Rumours had sold 3,437,677 per MW, plus about 47k in the subsequent 3 weeks.

For sure for me. BTW - GREAT album.

Unfortunately for you, chart positions are not based on how *much* an album is liked... ;)

Fortunately for him they are based on how popular an act is at the current point in time. Bastille's album has ten times the hype and general anticipation of Dido and Stereophonics new ones. Both of these acts had their heydey a decade (or more ago) and don't shift in the same quantities now. To look at their previous albums for example, Dido's got to #2 and dived, Stereophonics' missed the top ten. Bastille are practically guaranteed the #1.

Of course chart positions show what is liked! What do you think, people buy albums they don't like?

+1

Tnx man :)

We're not in 2004

Bastille have the number 1 album in the bag IMO - they're way more popular and current than either Dido or Stereophonics at the moment

Fleetwood Mac - of course some songs don't "sound like Fleetwood Mac" as they had four songwriters and three lead vocalists around the time of their biggest success (i.e. Rumours, Tusk, Tango In The Night) so there is quite a variety of sounds

They have a high-riding single, yes - but the other two have proven album success.

I guess we'll just have to wait & see... :)

Bastille will walk it, basically they are current and in your face at the moment, Gooddelta summarising the point perfectly.
