The Saturdays finally hitting no.1 with something will be the equivalent of when 911 did it. No one will particularly care and it'll be forgotten in a year. The only great thing is that either way the iTunes and Sunday Chart Predictions threads will be utterly hilarious and full of :drama: moments.

I know, I'm already dreading reading the iTunes thread. :(

Am I the only one that hasn't seen any hype for The Saturdays' return at all. I'm a morning/evening listener to R1 and haven't heard the track once, haven't heard it out, haven't heard it in shops and have yet to see the music video. I stand by my position that they don't really 'deserve' a number-one with anything now - they seem far too desperate for one.

I agree. I haven't heard anything about them in real life. But I don't spend much time around people who would like The Saturdays anyway. The fact there's a cover version so high up iTunes suggests there's bigger demand for the song than usual though.

BJSC boost, it's also just been play listed by Radio1. It's Ep is also like #90 on iTunes.

Go on Aquafina. :w00t:

As you know, 'Fools' was one of my personal highlights from BJSC. Watch it suddenly do well in BJSC - TBO at the end of the year. Nu-Gotye (maybe?)

112. Kano & Benga - Forefather :cheer:

134. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Same Love - They play this a lot on Choice FM, but I think their next single should be Can't Hold Us

155. Wiley - Wearing My Rolex - CLASSIC

174. Passenger - Let Her Go - I think this will be a huge hit

195. J Cole - Power Trip - This song is perfect. I think Radio 1 might playlist it (or they might do that thing where they playlist it 6 months after its actually popular )

239. Miguel - Adorn

310. Calvin Harris - I Need Your Love

316. Calvin Harris - I Need Your Love

390. Rihanna - Pour It Up - I love this song so much and I think people might be happy for club Rihanna to be back, but the sorts of people that use iTunes probably won't like the song

Oh Mikey :(

Good to see Nelly releasing kinda-OA/OS anyway, looks like he might extend his relevance a little bit further once more ('Just A Dream' doing so well still seems odd but that was a good song, not heard his new one yet). Went top 10 on US iTunes on release. to #59 here.

Taylor Swift '22' to #77, definitely looking like another hit for her. Not yet heard this either.

'Swimming Pools (Drank)' at #80, it was a little bit higher earlier but still comfortably back in the top 100!

Same Love needs to be released. I refuse to let it become an album track. I just won't accept it. :(

Pour It Up is already playlisted on 1Xtra. I think it will either be huge ... maybe similar to Niggas In Paris success .... or just do similar to Talk That Talk (the single).

I love it though, it makes me want to get crunk.

New Mariah video is out, for Almost Home. She needs to promote it.

Nelly went top 10 on US iTunes but I think that was quite a while after its release. The song is decent. Very similar to Whistle by Flo Rida.

I think it'll definitely be released (well, technically re-released). Just a question of whether it's next or will come after Can't Hold Us. I think Can't Hold Us will be the next single now because it's already top 50 on the rhythmic chart and top 20 on US iTunes.

Wow. I hope it does as well in the charts as Niggas in Paris! I doubt it though, I think more like Talk That Talk, especially since Pour It Up won't be getting a music video (most likely).

Pour It Up is kind of doing better than Niggas in Paris in a way so far, since I remember even late 2011 I was hearing NIP absolutely everywhere and it was only floating at around #750 on iTunes. It was only after Radio 1 playlisted it that the song did anything in the charts. At least Pour It Up is already near the top 300.

Nelly Furtado!! Ha ha

It's Nelly btw :P

"Mikey of the CENTURY"

Oh Mikey :(

oops -_- "grabs anorak"

'What About Us' is most certainly got more appeal than their normal songs, much like 'All Fired Up' it is more dancey and more what is selling at the moment. Having said that, I can't see it doing better than 'All Fired Up' and predict sales of around 46-47k in it's first week, which I can see getting them another top 3.
I don't get this "it's appeal expands outside their fanbase" talk. What has WAU got that the likes of 'Ego' and 'Forever Is Over' didn't have to appeal to more people?
'Ego' is their 2nd (?) biggest selling single, so it clearly did appeal outside of the fanbase. (The peak is just because it was a post-album single, post album singles weren't as successful as they are now). Also, a few of my friends have either suggested the song to me or posted a status about it. One of them along the lines of "I really hate the Saturdays, but this song is a CHOON!!". I just think it's a very good song. It's not their best, but it's most certainly not their worst, so if it appeals to their fanbase as well as the Joe public, then it's a winner. Top 3 is pretty certain and I believe it'll have some longevity too!

Nelly is one of my favourite rappers, but it saddens me so much he's lowered himself to doing Flo-Rida rejects, like this. I don't mind the odd Flo song and think he gets far too much schtick, but I appreciate him in a "guilty pleasure" sort of way, nothing more. I had more respect for Nelly and this new one is just so corny! I kinda want it to be a hit though :s It has a certain appeal that despite it being shit, I still want to go and listen to it.
#65 Nelly Furtado - Hey Porsche :D

lol, and the smiley face afterwards makes it even more funny

Why is everyone so gassed about The Saturdays anyway? the song is not all that and even if they do get to #1 it will only be for one week. I bet the iTunes thread is gonna be hundreds of pages long that week :drama:

Following in the footsteps of Alex Clare, this is the new Internet Explorer song. Wonder how well it'll do

EDIT: 105. Your Touch - Blake Lewis

There isn't a single song in the top 10 right now that's anything like 'What About Us'? If you made that comment a couple of years ago maybe but I think music has moved on a bit :P

Oh dear, the last few pages prove exactly why we really don't need an iTunes thread when What About Us is released. :(
I think we'll need 3 separate iTunes threads that week - one main one, one entirely for Saturdays loons commenting on every tiny climb and a third entirely for other people complaining about said Saturdays loons. Place your bets on which one gets the most posts!!!
