This is so bloody incredible. It channels Defender in all the right ways/places and just showcases that voice.

 

 

 

 

What a fucking day this has been! New MKS and then new Cilmi! What a day! This is going to be one hell of a year musically!

Yeah the Defender vibes are just what i needed from her right now (not sure if this is just a buzz single or whatever yet though).

 

And she looks absolutely STUNNING in the video.

It's not as good as about 10/12 tracks on Ten but it's a pretty solid effort and better than everything on the first album (bar Save The Lies) so I have hope for her to once again WOW me.

I agree with John. It's a lovely song but it is very much only "buzz single" (which is what it is considering it's being given away for free) worthy. I can see why she's chosen it as a buzz single too. Very nice though.

I listened to it last night. It's not a bad song, but I just feel like her voice lacks the sincerity and conviction to pull off a track like this which has deeper and darker subject matter.

 

I'm not trying to diss her, I do adore the Cilmi and Ten was one of my favourite albums of 2010 (and 'Don't Want To Go To Bed Now' is :wub: :wub:).

Yh, I agree that music is dark but her voice is just not there...

There better be something good from her for the first proper single. Not sure I'm a big fan of this!

She's always been so average and this is no better either.

This is so disappointing :( I was a huge fan of her during the Ten album, and although "Hearts Don't Lie" wasn't the best single choice, the other two from that album were fantastic and the album as a whole deserved so much more success. I'm glad this is a free single though; hopefully the lead single from the album is back to "On A Mission" life-making amazingness.

Its not fantastic but it's a free track so I don't think this is being promoted as a lead single or anything. Just a promotion thing to say new material is on its way.
