I just don't get the appeal of it though, IMO it's the poorest Rihanna single for a long time... maybe it will grow on me but I still think it's a strange choice for a single.

I can't see it being massive, maybe it will have a You Da One or TTT type of chart run. I don't think it's getting a video, so it's probably just a filler single whilst her previous singles die down then release Right Now in July for the summer.

As much as I adore Pompeii, it does need to get off the playlist soon to make way for fresh blood. ^_^ :P

Indeed, though it is understandable they are playing it to death since it got to the top 5 with only really their help then the other radio stations jumped on board - they love it when that happens!

Shes slowly becoming irrelevant with eah release imo!

Yay! Pour It Up added!!! :cheer: Only Rihanna would release that as a single. :D

Yeah, most people generally wouldn't even RECORD a song as awful as that. :D

-x-

Pretty boring playlist this week, there's a real DROUGHT of exciting new releases it seems. :(

I don't thin 'Right Now' will be pushed as a single tbh. I think with the dance-pop craze thing dying down, she'll skip past in in favour of another track! (I haven't heard the rest of the album though, to be fair)

If getting an 800k+ selling single, half a million selling album and a massive second single is irrelevant...

I think she'll either go for that, or 'Nobody's Business' (where she can't even pronounce the word "business" properly).

With each single though she is becoming less fresh and innovative - she needs a decent break away. Although Diamonds was excellent!

The two decent singles that she's already released aside, Rihanna's whole album is diabolical. I don't think she's going to get any more hits from it (in the UK atleast) tbh. 'Pour It Up' isn't UK-friendly at all, 'Right Now' as other people said sounds very passé at this point, and 'Nobody's Business' is a nothing of a song which would've never seen the light of day had they not seen it as an excuse to be "controversial" by getting Chris Brown on it.

See you in November, Rihanna.

Rihanna just keeps getting worse really. She's stuck in the rut of churning out an album every year and the decline in her albums is showing.

It's such a shame. I like nothing from Unapologetic.

Don't think it's a coincidence that Aluna George have been added as Disclosure ft Aluna George has been dropped from the playlist. Think the playlist team must have ben reluctant to have both records on at the some time. (Whilst their a feature on the Disclosure record it's Aluna's vocals throughout not a rent a rap)

I don't think we give radio 1 sufficent plaudits so I just have to say the A-List looks magnificent. Bastille, Ben Howard, Duke Dumont, Haim, Timberlake, Kodaline, Kendrick Lamar & The 1975. A load of great songs there, fantastic variety of genres and a lot of new(ish) artists. Well done Radio 1 !

After initially hating it, I'm now starting to really like 'Pour It Up'. Really liking the instrumental to it and the rest is a grower. I can see it being played in clubs as well, hope it can go at least top 15 and glad to see it playlisted!

I completely agree, she is nowhere near what she used to be. I wouldn't say I don't like ANYTHING from 'Unapologetic' but 'Diamonds', 'Stay' and 'Love Without Tradegy/Mother Mary' aside, it is all extremely poor.
