Someone has rigged the Radio 2 Top 100 albums chart. Duran Duran "Rio" at No.3! Pet Shop Boys better than the Beatles. Not sure those at Radio 2 know how to stop people voting hundreds of times for their favourite album. :w00t:

I wouldn't be surprised! My dad was pissed off to find out that his favourite album (Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon) was only at #4, behind Duran Duran!

It should be noted there was a "shortlist" that you could choose from so not everything could be included.
1 Coldplay - A Rush Of Blood To The Head

2 Keane - Hopes & Fears

What a mess.

A mess?!?! A Rush Of Blood To The Head is in my Top 10 of all time and Hopes And Fears is in my Top 30 of all time!

Great to see Dido up there! Surprised to see Maroon 5 but whatever you think of them, Songs About Jane IS an amazing album. Also surprised but glad to see Cee Lo just sneak in.

Ironically, the Duran Duran, & Pink Floyd Albums, at 3 & 4, were

not No.1 Hits. They both reached No.2. The Bruce Springsteen Album,

at No.16, only reached No.17 in the Charts. And the ELO, Meat Loaf,

& Kate Bush Albums - at 22, 23, & 24 - Peaked at No.4, No.9, & No.3.

Several more Albums, in the Top 100 did not reach No.1. So, it is all

a matter of how an Album is remembered that counts - not how

big a Hit it was.

In August 2006, BBC Radio 2 broadcast this Top 100 Albums List,

from listeners Votes. Each person could Vote for several Albums,

as long as they had reached No.1 - and were not 'Hits' Albums.

Big surge for Kylie's Fever for absolutely no reason.

Bonkers list.

I bought one out of the 100 - and that was Definitely Maybe...there was a shortlist too you say? Looks like the album collection of the most boring person in the world.

Where on earth is London Calling by The Clash?

Pretty much the most pointless exercise ever undertaken.

These kind of "lists" are always totally subjective.

On a positive note - nothing from any TV "singing-talent" style shows....now that would be boring. :D

It was supposed to be a list of Radio 2's Top 100 most played albums ever, then a public vote. I would never have gouessed at the top 2 though.

How is that ironic?

100 Cee Lo Green - The Lady Killer

Sorry what :P?!

It's a great album actually.
