June 11, 201312 yr I mean, listen to this acoustic version, no one messed anything up and it is very good. Jaymi once again shows he is a strong vocalist: I watched that the other day, simply beautiful. George and Jaymi's parts are the best of the song.
June 11, 201312 yr Of course Union J were far better vocalists on The X Factor than 1D were. 1D were pathetic on The X Factor, while Union J's only duff performance was Don't Stop Me Now. But talking about their vocals outside of The X Factor, and in singles - 1D are obviously more established than Union J, and have better vocals, while Union J have only showed what they have to offer in one song. When Union J's album surfaces, I'll make a judgement then. ^_^ I'm judging on what I saw of live performances during X Factor and what I've seen of 1D since. Anyone can be made to sound decent on disc. Most of 1D's X Factor vocals were drowned out and I've seen nothing since on tv performances to convince me there's been much improvement. Jaymi is a better vocalist and has a more unique voice than any of 1D. Liam is an ok singer but the rest are below-average. It was clear from early on on X Factor that 3 of Union J had actually worked together with tight harmonies. Not a group of lads just shoved together for Simon Cowell to market. As I said in an earlier post I'm not a fan, in fact I haven't even heard the single. I just think it's a shame that these (in my opinion) more talented boys won't have anything like the opportunities to be successful as Cowell's chosen ones. June 11, 201312 yr They switched London venues as well.. Originally suppose to be playing the O2 Academy in Islington but have evidentially moved to Hammersmith Apollo.
June 11, 201312 yr To be honest, I think they'll split up by the time the tour starts. This group just screams One True Voice to me.
June 12, 201312 yr To be honest, I think they'll split up by the time the tour starts. This group just screams One True Voice to me. To be honest, NO. Will probably try and get tickets to the Clyde Auditorium, although I doubt my dad will go and see Union J with me, so I'll have to ask my mum. :P
June 12, 201312 yr To be honest, I think they'll split up by the time the tour starts. Their single just opened with 50k. Only two of the Saturdays' last five singles managed that. It's hardly any reason to be doom mongering is it?
June 12, 201312 yr Their single just opened with 50k. Only two of the Saturdays' last five singles managed that. It's hardly any reason to be doom mongering is it? But we've seen time and time again over the years that these X Factor contestants have rapidly-diminishing returns with every single they release after their first one. They're going to be behind One Direction and the Wanted in the queue for the best songs from the industry's top songwriters, so unless one of the band members themselves has any songwriting talent, it's hard to see how they're going to get their hands on any songs that are better than 'Carry You'. June 12, 201312 yr Author The suggestion that they'll split up by the time the tour starts just seems plain silly though. They'll have only recently released the album and people will have bought tickets??!
June 12, 201312 yr Okay, maybe after the tour. But does anyone really expect the band to have a substantial music career aside from a few other singles? On the basis on Carry You (which is no What Makes You Beautiful in terms of power and energy), I'm not sure. There's going to be a lot of pressure on them seeing as they're being marketed as the next new successful boyband and they're going to find it quite hard to keep up.

Why are you so adamant that they'll split up at some point before/during/after the tour? Because the 99.9% likeliness is that they won't. It's getting quite boring seeing people compare Carry You/the rest of Union J's upcoming career to One Direction/What Makes You Beautiful, too. They're not 1D, I doubt they're trying to be, I doubt they'd ever want to be, and just because they have less success than them because of how immensely glorified 1D are in the music industry, doesn't mean they aren't as good.

I agree on this wholeheartedly. There is no reason to compare them as they are quite different. Also, 1D are extremely lucky that Simon is supporting them and that the media track their every move - Union J don't have that kind of support so it ridiculous to even assume they will have the same success.
June 12, 201312 yr But quality and reasons for success and failure are at the end of the day irrelevant when it comes to how an act is viewed in the eyes of their label and the public. Union J are basically identical to One Direction and they're less successful. That's really just something to accept and blindly denying that they're being marketed in a similar fashion or making excuses for their modest returns is a pointless endeavour (not to mention one that makes for some very uninteresting arguments). It's the sort of thing you'd expect to see on a UJ fan forum, not here. The suggestion that they'll split up prior to the tour is of course incorrect, but aside from that I find Griff quite reasonable here. Union J are fucked, but then it was evident to most that they had no hope for longevity a long time ago.
June 12, 201312 yr Also I've just realised this is called the Magazines and TV Screens tour. 'Da f*** is that?
August 3, 201311 yr Their single just opened with 50k. Only two of the Saturdays' last five singles managed that. It's hardly any reason to be doom mongering is it? Just found out they are managed by Crown. I'd say that's a good enough reason to be doom mongering.
August 17, 201311 yr I wanna know...when are we getting a second single....I know Kick-ass 2 has just come out and that, but we have had Carry You now for a good few months..I want some new stuff :P...Im inpatient! so sue me! :P
August 17, 201311 yr They'll probably release around X Factor time (live shows), so that they can get a week 1 or 2 performance, I think.
