Listened to this a couple of times now and on the whole found it really boring and just drifted away from it in the middle section especially as it was all far too samey. I do like the final two tracks but it's mainly the singles that are standing out from the rest.
I was lucky enough to see them at Parklife Festival last weekend. I say see them... the tent (this was clearly arranged MONTHS ago!) was BURSTING to the point health and safety was out of the window! I was dancing on a barrier when they did "Boiling" which collapsed to the floor. It was worth the odd cut and bruise though, they are.. just.. amazing! Never loved a band so much since Basement Jaxx emerged on the scene back in the 90s! Jessie came on near the end and did her 2 tracks!!
I heard them doing You And Me, but I didn't hear them doing Need U (100%)! Do you have a YouTube link?

Not youtube, but I have this

They don't add anything new to the track really (it's very much like a Disclosure remix so of course it's great) but it's always so nice to hear Sam Smiths knock-out vocals!

I found this album a bit samey and overly long in places, but I did really like the general 'feel' of it, its definitely got a really good range of vocalists. In terms of standouts, its definitely still the three singles but I like When A Fire Starts To Burn (in fact, I found a lot of the solo tracks on the album tended to be better than some of the collaborations), I don't really get the big hype over Confess To Me on first listen, I prefer Help Me Lose My Mind personally.

First impressions:

'Intro' - not really a song obviously but a nice start.

'When A Fire Starts To Burn' - is this really the next single? It's good in an album track sort of way but not a single at all surely. Kind of reminds me of Chase & Status' 'Hocus Pocus' but not as good.

'Latch' - obviously flawless. Not too sure about the transition into this, could have been placed better on the album.

'F For You' - the best album track other than the collabs.

'White Noise' - again obviously flawless

'Defeated No More' - sounds pretty much as I expected a Disclosure/Friendly Fires collab to sound which is no bad thing.

'Stimulation' - quite reminiscent of some of their pre-'Latch' stuff. A tad too long but v. good.

'Voices' - mid-album lull starts here. Pretty forgettable really. Why on Earth was this the most cherrypicked track?

'Second Chance' - almost identical to 'F For You' but not as good.

'Grab Her!' - could do with being a good two minutes shorter. Not too bad.

'You & Me' - now we're back. As with the other 2 singles, amazing.

'January' - favourite album track by a MILE, Jamie did not let me down on this one  This to be a single please!

'Confess To Me' - this on the other hand I'm not really getting so far. Probably could be a grower but it has nothing on 'Running'.

'Help Me Lose My Mind' - brilliant closing track, 2nd best album track after 'January'. Probably better than London Grammar's other material I've heard also.

Overall about 7.5-8/10, it is a little bit dominated by the singles and could do with a few tracks being shorter or in the case of 'Voices' not there at all, but a solid listen nonetheless. Will make sure to come back to it again at some point.

"Voices" is under-whelming initially, but it's an absolute grower. I keep going back to this one, bloody love it!

08 When A Fire Starts To Burn - found the hook a bit grating at first, but i'm starting to enjoy this now. Strange choice of single though!

10 Latch

08 F For You

10 White Noise

09 Defeated No More - Disclosure + Friendly Fires = amazing, chilled summer track

07 Stimulation

07 Voices

05 Second Chance

07 Grab Her!

09 You & Me

08 January

09 Confess To Me

09 Help Me Lose My Mind

F For You does seem like a pretty good single choice tbh. As awesome as Confess To Me is, i'm not sure they'll pick it as a single, I think they'd be more likely to go with 'When a Fire Starts to Burn' or the London Grammar collab

Reminds me of when I saw Nero at Wireless Festival 2011...despite having just gone top 10 with 'Guilt' ('Promises' was about two months away) they were stuffed into a tiny tent. Never have I feared for my life so much as being in there during their set, was insane

Will have to check this out, White Noise and especially Latch are some of the best tracks released in the last year or so!

Yea a bit dull... And not a fan of the vocals, they dont work with the bassline somehow...

Thoroughly good record. It's not often you can say that about a dance record.

They'd be so foolish not to release 'Confess To Me'. :(

Brillant album overall so instant. the London Grammar track is great as is everything LG have done, cant wait for their album.

So much goodness coming out of the uk urban dance scene these days!!

So it looks like as if F For You is definitely the next single.

They should just release Confess With Me and then January. :(

And then they can get on with making their Discovery. *.*

They're releasing an F For You collab with Mary J Blige because they want to do EVERYTHING they can to stop Confess to Me from being a single.

Mary J ruins the song with her excessive howling. Much prefer Howard's subdued sleek vocals.
