I'm surprised Will.i.am is only no 3. Given the huge profile he has, as well as the big singles, I thought he would be a contender for no. 1.

With that lead, Daft Punk should be safe even with the price increase on iTunes surely? Actually, with 60k already, they could well be on for the biggest sales for a #1 this year.

Good to see 'Radioactive' still so close to the Top 10, although I'm a little disappointed it's not really translating into album sales.

It usually takes a while for the singles sale charts and airplay of a song to translate to album sales!

Daft Punk should top The Saturdays' #1 sales for certain then, 60k in just three days and those weren't even their first 3 days. They're less than 10k off The Sats' 7-day total in just 5 days as well, so would have likely had the fastest seller of the year in the bag if they released on a Sunday. Incredible :o Could see their album opening on higher sales than Bublé's.

Great to see Rudimental still selling strongly as well, hope they can do at least another 75k this week.Yay for the climbs for Calvin, Macklemore, Imagine Dragons, Iggy Azalea, The 1975 and AlunaGeorge :D Hope there's a chance of Amelia dropping out entirely by Sunday but I think she'll hang on at around #37.

Frank Turner looking fairly likely to hold onto #2 in the albums if he's at least 5.8k ahead of Emeli, I should imagine she'll overtake will.i.am by Friday though and I don't think '#willpower' will hold onto a top 5 position all week. Good to see Phoenix taking advantage of the dead week and looking at a possible top 10 debut, can't believe they haven't had a top 40 album to date! And YAY at 'Discovery' returning to the top 30 :D

We are guaranteed excellent sales in the top 3 singles chart and its looking likely sales of the top 3 album will be additionally respectable.

So happy at the thought of 'Get Lucky' selling over 100k this week! '#thatPOWER' is looking to increase in sales too, just a shame #willpower isn't doing great. :( I can't see it falling from the Top 5 though if calculations show it will do just over 20 and it's nearest competitor is Emeli Sande who won't manage over 20k unless Britain's Got Talent or The Voice has anything to do with it.

Great to see climbs for 'I Need Your Love', 'Can't Hold Us', 'Work', 'How Ya Doin'?' and 'Attracting Flies'. Love the fact there is 3 back-to-back dance tracks at #34, #35 and #36. :P

Sats fans have been saying "omg fastest seller of the year your faves could neva"

This is the week I say, actually my faves could :P Go Daft Punk :cheer:

Will.iam is clearly never going to be an albums act which i find strange as the singles so extremely well, black eyed peas had major success in both the singles and albums chart so i dont understand where it is not translating for Will.iam. I hope Daft Punk sell way over 100,000, these guys have deserved number 1's in the past, some of their singles are shockingly under rated so this will hlpe make up for some of it.
New releases presumably going 2x on Sunday, Will possibly slightly more and Frank a little less so I can see both holding their positions.

60,000 already?! :o

This is actually incredible.

Daft Punk is looking to be my favourite #1 of the year so far. Great sales so far.
Wonder if Daft Punk could sell close to 100k for the next 2/3 weeks since they released it early a bit like Gotye/Carly Rae Jepson last year, it always happens with OA/OS successes!!
I hope amelia can climb, poor girl!
I hope amelia can climb, poor girl!

She's already down to 45 on Itunes so she is bound to fall.. Probably end up at 43 or something

Surprised WillIam's sales are so low especially being on tv every Saturday night. Mustn't just be me that finds him annoying.

Midweek Charts update: Daft Punk heading for 2013's highest sales

by Paul Willams

Daft Punk's Get Lucky is set to accumulate the highest weekly sales of the year having already shifted more than 100,000 copies already this week.

The French act's first ever release for Columbia had sold 101,853 copies by the end of business on Thursday, according to the Official Charts Company, easily putting it on target to beat the current best sales tally of 114,259 units when the full week chart is published on Sunday. That was set in March by Polydor act The Saturdays' What About Us with Sean Paul.

Get Lucky, which debuted on last Sunday's chart at No 3 having only being released on the Friday, has also achieved the highest weekly sales to date for Daft Punk. Their previous best weekly tally was 58,834 for One More Time in 2000.

Daft Punk, whose single features contributions from Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, are joined in the latest midweek singles top five by Asylum/Atlantic act Rudimental whose Waiting All Night featuring Ella Eyre drops to 2 having debuted at 1 las Sunday. The Intercsope/Polydor single Thatpower by will.i.am featuring Justin Bieber also falls a place, down 2-3, while Columbia act Calvin Harris is up 7-4 with I Need Your Love featuring Ellie Goulding and the Macklemore label-issued Can't Hold Us by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton is up 12-5 with weely sales increasing 114%.

Michael Buble will spend a second week leading the artist albums chart with Reprise/Warner Bros set To Be Loved, while Frank Turner's first album through Polydor is providing its biggest competition. Tape Deck Heart, which is on Turner's long-time label Xtra Mile via the Universal division, is new at 2 in the midweeks, outselling will.i.am's brand new Interscope/Polydor album Willpower, which is at No 3. Virgin act Emeli Sande drops 3-4 with Our Version Of Events and Pink's RCA album The Truth About Love is down 4-5.

So Daft Punk featuring Pharrell have easily overtaken the Saturdays featuring Sean Paul's record for fastest selling single of the year based on a 7-day period then.
