Technically it should be already, its total sales were revealed to be 64,002 last year. Strange!

Both could potentially achieve Gold status.

The vinyl release of Impossible Princess when it arrives will help it to get there.

Vinyl included Impossible Princess might celebrate gold for its 35th anniversary.

The tour was cancelled in Germany because of financial difficulties of the German promoter for the show and I remember friends not getting their money back. On a big German celebrity page whenever there's news about Kylie a former fan posts about this cancellation, claims Kylie owns him money for his concert ticket and she didn't do anything for German fans to get their money back... Does anybody know what happened there and if Kylie ever showed interest in this financial issue?
Given this a listen as well, five Kylie albums in four days :deadbanana: For me it is the weakest so far, I’m not hopping on the bandwagon as I know it’s easy to say that when all the loyal fans are, it’s just less cohesive and less of an album than the others. As individual tracks the majority work, the two singles (yes even IWGC sorry bout it x), Million Miles, Sexercize (I’ve actually seen the video for this before somehow), the title track and Mr President stood out. Beautiful was the only outright bad track on there, tbh I can’t think of a worse song in the albums I’ve heard by her (Light Years, Aphrodite, this, Golden and Disco) eek.

THE TASTE

I wish I could delete "Beautiful" from existence.

I LOVE KMO  . It's not a cohesive album, but most tracks are in my regular Kylie rotation: ITB, Million Miles, Sexy Love, Les Sex, Sexercize, Feels So Good, If Only, Mr. President, and Golden Boy b-side. Even though her vocals are often very processed, there are still spots where I catch how far her vocal skills have come.

I love Kylie to death, to an extent I'd buy an album if she sang out of a phone directory!

That said, I just hardly ever listen to KMO at all. IMHO it's made of 2 parts: clinging on desperately to the tried and tested formula, and in the process come up with inferior versions (Sexy Love, Into the blue, etc.) or try doing something totally new, it just doesn't work (Sexercise, Feels so good, etc.). After Golden and Disco releases, I appreciate how much more consistent they are, unlike KMO which IMHO was a poor man's "X" or BL.

The only only ever song that's stayed on my playlist is the title track, which, I really do love. And to think KMO is "only" 6 yrs old.... I rotate songs from Fever, LY, or even Rhythm of Love on my jogging playlists with more enthusiasm.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. What did you think of the album then, and now?

I've combined your thread with one that was made a couple of months back. :D

Thank you my dear sweet Liam!

Golden threw light on how disappointing Kiss me Once was.

Disco highlights it on a completley other level.

KMO is still one of my most played and most enjoyed Kylie albums - I never understand the hate apart from the horrific IWGC video (However I love the song! -_- ).

Lemme bop to Sexy Love, Les Sex, and Sexercize in a row again

Not hugely familiar with this but when I did hear it previously it hasn't left a huge impression on me. Let's see if it grows~

1. Into The Blue

2. Million Miles

3. Kiss Me Once

4. If Only

5. Sexy Love

6. Feels So Good

7. Fine

8. I Was Gonna Cancel

9. Sleeping With The Enemy

10. Les Sex

11. Sexercize

12. Beautiful (Feat. Enrique Iglesias)

13. Mr President

'Into The Blue' is a sublime opener, so joyous and up-lifting. 'Million Miles' is a lot of fun, shocked it wasn't a single especially over what was chosen as second single  speaking of - surely one of her most annoying songs ever!? The verses are actually ok but that tinny production/vocal arrangement in the chorus goes straight through me, eek. Of the other songs, 'If Only' is pretty grand, the production is interesting and it definitely stands out on the album. The vocal effects could be jarring, but for me it works well. The title track is stunning  the bottom few tracks are pretty unlistenable at times oops.

Overall there is one MAJOR HIGH, some good, a few decent and then a fair few horrors. Not a huge fan i'm afraid.

Album ranking

01. Fever

02. Kylie Minogue

03. Light Years

04. Aphrodite

05. Rhythm of Love

06. Impossible Princess

07. X

08. Kylie

09. Enjoy Yourself

10. Let's Get To It

11. Kiss Me Once

12. Body Language

Totally agree on your description of 'I Was Gonna Cancel'. Sometimes I'll start listening to it and think "perhaps I judged this too harshly?" then it gets to the chorus and I remember... :')

'Sleeping With The Enemy' is a beauty though! It's the only song that's up there with the quality of 'Into the Blue' for me, although 'If Only' and 'Kiss Me Once' are very good too. I think that's where the album suffers most tbh: it lacks its high points. There's a lot of tracks I like but they aren't very adventurous so, as a fan who has listened to all her albums, it's hard to get excited about them. The album has its moments of stepping out the safety zone but these tracks are generally picked out as the worst songs.

I think the outtakes from the album, particularly the songs Kylie did with Fernando Garibay, are so much better and it's the direction I wish she pursued for the album.
