I just wanted to make my next prediction.

 

Kiss me once will be seen by fans as a fan favourite in another 10 to 15 years time. Kiss me once will be the new impossible princess huns. I was right about Kylie scoring another big hit. I have the prediction that Tension will outsell Golden and Disco over the next few years and long term, Kiss Me Once will be seen as a fan favourite.

Agree my hun, I think it is a great album. Not perfect by a long shot but it is a great great album. So many cool sounds on there.

I think wrong choice of single was chosen for the first track. I love Into The Blue but its not a lead single.

 

Sexercise video was really good but didn't get the attention it deserved.

 

Too much emphasis on Pharrel zzzzzzz costly. I Was Gonna Cancel Video was tragic.

 

Fine, Million Miles should have been promoted more

Aside from a couple of tracks that I'd consider to be below par (typically two of the songs she actually decided to give a push - I Was Gonna Cancel and Beautiful), I honestly think Kiss Me Once otherwise contains mostly good to great songs!

 

Whenever this album is brought up, I have to mention this: from my perspective, the fanbase at large only really turned on Kiss Me Once after it became apparent that the era wasn't going to be a huge success. When the album was brand new, there wasn't much negativity towards it, musically speaking. There really wasn't any doom-mongering. Attitudes towards the album's quality really soured when I Was Gonna Cancel was released as a single and flopped, and that seems to have persisted ever since.

 

The Kiss Me Once truthers know that it's a good and unfairly maligned album!

 

I mean, look at the material: Fine - a stunner! If Only - boundary pushing! Feels So Good - delectable! Kiss Me Once - soaring! Into the Blue - epic! 💃

I'm mixed on this! I think it's the best song on the album, so from that perspective I think it deserved to be a lead. On the other hand, the song doesn't actually represent the album very well... so as a first taste, it's a bit misleading. She could have made a bolder choice for the lead, to set the tone of the era better.

 

I think one thing that took the wind out of this single's sails is the music video. One of her most forgettable music videos in my opinion. That's really not ideal for a lead single. The video is giving me... fragrance advert.

 

I do feel like the fanbase would be a bit kinder towards Into the Blue (as a song) had it made the UK Top 10. Many of us remember the iTunes mess up. I wonder if its lack of visiblity on iTunes (not being Top 10, when it was before the mess up) actually did hinder it going Top 10 in the official charts? There was a 5,000 sales difference, which seems quite a lot... makes me wonder if it would have still missed the Top 10 anyway?

The Voice also didn't help really. it was a horrid performance of Into The Blue with the boys.

Yes! I've watched that video a grand total of twice, it comes to something when even the lyric video is better.

 

Mind you, it's a masterpiece compared to the video that followed it... :drama:

Turd then and still turd today. I only ever listen to the title track and Feels so good. The only 2 good bonuses this era produced where the bonus track Sparks and Crystallise

She does that really unpleasant high-pitched wail she's prone to doing once in a blue moon on 'Feels So Good', that stops me from enjoying it properly :(

Its the kylie album that I just can't connect with at all and for her most forgettable. I have tried and tried but apart from les sex, Crystallize and into the blue nothing else resonates with me at all.

It’s not one of my favourite albums. There are some good tracks like into the blue, sleeping with the enemy, mr president, feels so good and kiss me once but there are some pretty poor tracks too. I’m not keen on I was gonna cancel, les sex or beautiful.

As I have said before with Kiss me once it just misses the kylie element I usually love and adore. I could say the same for body language but slow and chocolate are 2 songs I really like that make the era memorable.

I think it's a half good album in retrospect, but a bit of a mess in places. I wish they'd gone in the direction of the tracks from the Sleepwalker EP.

 

I'll always have fond memories of the era as I got to see her 3 times during it (being practically at the front for iTunes fest was a moment I'll never forget in my life)

I really like the album as a whole, Into the Blue is stunning and Les Sex is all deep beats and electro.

 

I’ve never written the album off because it wasn’t popular. Her live vocals were peak level at the Maida Vale gig and she was in peak shape on the tour. Gold circle or whatever it was called, was brilliant. Much better than paying stupid amounts for a seat close to the stage.

Into the blue was by far the best choice for lead single, crystallize really should made the cut on the final track listing as its a big high from a low era for me.
