So, is anyone still thinking that the album version will help Daft Punk stay at #1 this week?

Daft Punk's top version is down to 0.6235 now, the album version will need to get to at least #4 to be closing that gap and Naughty Boy has EP sales as well. I don't think there's any chance Daft Punk will stay #1 this week now but in a way that's a good thing, because it means 'La La La' must be on for rather massive sales ('Get Lucky' should still be doing 100k+ this week).

Passenger seems to be closing in a bit on the radio edit of 'Get Lucky' but combining the two versions of that (second version now #28), 'Let Her Go' is on ~65% of it still, which is around the same as the highest it's got so far. With the album version of 'Get Lucky' continuing to shoot up Passenger will probably fall behind again combined soon.

2 Chainz  #5 now :drama:

Lana Del Rey  #23. Glad to see the movie is having a good impact on this.

Evanescence  #29, hope this is another really frontloaded boost that will miss the top 40. I can understand why that performance has had such a massive effect though having now seen it.

To be fair, I like the 2 Chainz song. It's not brilliant though.

I think that's gone out the window.

Naughty Boy looks pretty safe now. The hype has just been snowballing for this song, there's something about it. I agree when people say it doesn't sound like a #1. Without a huge name it's impressive. But now with the #1 exposure, I'm not surprised its blowing up, it's catchy but also unique. The lead is still growing substantially.

I'm glad Naughty Boy seems to be heading for a #1. The song is amazing! It'll make a great #1, yet it doesn't sound like one. Kinda like how Gotye didn't...doubt it'll be as massive as that though :P

Come on 'Really Don't Care'!

Hope it can become the highest cherry picked track from 'DEMI'! :D

By my reckoning, the second version will need to go top 5 itself for this to happen.

But isn't that assuming that Naughty Boy will keep the same lead it has now for the whole week? A lot of held-back releases lately seem to start losing quite a lot of steam just a few days after being released.

The same could also apply to Daft Punk's second version too.

Urgh, I hoped that Give Your Heart A Break would eventually manage to go top 200, the most undeserved flop of 2012 in the UK.

A nice surprise release for a Monday :w00t:

Just to add to the Daft Punk discussion, I'd love for them to get a 5th week at Number 1, but I suppose I'll be happy with it falling to Number 2 as long as it can still get it's overall sales to 700,000. Hopefully with help from the album version, this should be achievable.

Naughty Boy is doing really well, should sell quite alot this week which should make up for DP not doing the double but it should sell over 100k again and who knows what the album will sell!!

NB could make it difficult for Robin next week too, but it is a held back release so it should fade just enough to let Thicke get a no1 either next week or the following. That was the thing with Get Lucky it kept selling steadily because it was so big, so good & building quickly in airplay!!

Olly's label have just announced this afternoon that they're bringing forward the release of the EP for 'Dear Darlin' to this Sunday - so not 26th June as we all previously thought!
