Beyonce isn't releasing her album until November though. :(

 

I'm hoping for a summer single though but I doubt it.

 

Yeah she will probably release the first single in September and then the second single in November with the album. It's going to be Beyonce vs Rihanna for the queen of the November albums but should be fun.

I really hope so, the performance was fantastic! The song is so anthemic and uplifting and is definitely one of my favourite Olly songs and possibly my favourite of all!

'Right Place Right Time' reminded me of 'Let It Rock' by Kevin Rudolf. Sounded quite good, he really should have sang 'Dear Darlin'' though - I get that he was probably trying to sell his album more than any singles but I think a 'Dear Darlin'' performance would have done both.

I find it difficult to imagine Olly Murs doing a song like Let It Rock. :lol:

As a HUGE Rihanna fan, I really hope this is the year where she takes a break. Unapologetic is the first album of hers I haven't bought since her debut album. I even bought her reloaded edition of GGGB. But sadly her latest album was just full of sub-par songs and this is coming from someone who is in the minority and really enjoyed TTT. 'Diamonds' got boring VERY quickly and is just cheesy while 'Stay' bores me COMPLETELY. Her recent ballads don't match up to CKB, 'Unfaithful' and other earlier ones. 'Pour It Up' remains the only thing from the current era I actually like. Maybe she can release a collaboration just to ensure her run of annual #1s stays strong.

 

If 'Ratchet' is released and it is a GaGa/Beyonce/Azealia record, I wonder whose it actually is. I'm assuming Azealia is definitely just a feature. I hope if it is a single, the video will be the sequel to 'Telephone'.

I agree Stay isn't Rihanna's best ballad. I preferred Take a Bow, Love the Way You Lie Part II, Farewell, Unfaithful, but I think California King Bed is by far the worst. :( Russian Roulette wasn't very good either imo (if that counts).

 

Rihanna does have a collaboration coming up with Wale called Bad. It's just a remix though. I've been listening to the original for a couple of months now, and I was surprised to hear she's on a remix to it, although maybe it's appropriate given what the beat is. :kink: Not sure if the song will do anything in the UK, but it's already top 100 on the pop airplay chart in the US, so a Rihanna remix might be helpful there.

 

As for that Ratchet song, I think it probably doesn't exist.

'Dear Darlin'' seems to be on the up from Olly's performance anyway ( #6, #30 and #66). Looking at Kworb though I think it could easily have gone top 3 with its top version if he'd performed it :(

This borefest is back because of BGT if anyone's wondering. Had a feeling it would return but not THIS high <_<

 

Also only just seen that Birdy's 'People Help The People' is back again (#59) after being used on BGT for all of a few seconds yesterday. Boo.

 

EDIT: Beyoncé's 'Halo' is also to #37 after today's BGT. That was already in the chart due to being 59p though.

Yeah, bizarre decision. There's only so much one standalone performance is going to do, it would've made much more sense to perform Dear Darlin'. Performing it would've turned it into a bigger hit which in turn would've helped album sales much more than performing a song which most people will have forgotten all about in 24 hours' time.
