 24. Jessie J - Wild (feat. Big Sean & Dizzee Rascal)

 570. Stylo G - Soundbwoy (Original Mix)

Jessie doing incredibly well especially as it seems you cannot download it through iTunes (old versions of iTunes probably do not apply to this) on a computer unless you go onto her Twitter and get the link from there!

I would guess the majority of its sales at the moment are coming from the link on Twitter to be fair.
How long did it take for Cheryl Cole to get to number 1 with 'Fight For This Love'? I remember that having a pretty rapid climb (fastest at the time IIRC), but I think it took a little while longer back then compared to what it would have done now for example. (I hope that makes sense )
Hmm, when was the last time an artist was both #1 and #2? Madonna? Pharrell won't be replacing himself at #1 but I forgot he may still do this (unless Jessie gets in the way).

David Guetta managed it as a producer in 2009 with Sexy Chick and I Gotta Feeling, but he didn't get credited on the latter.

Urgh at Jennifer Lopez's awfully slow start, even Amelia Lily was at #45 at this time, had Jennifer Lopez not had BGT and Graham Norton at the end of the week, I'm sure she would have struggled to make the top 30 at this rate. I know it's early but J-Lo will be incredibly front loaded especially with the song not being on a EP.

I wonder if Jennifer Lopez will perform on the BGT final or the final Semi? If so... maybe J-lo might actually peak next week rather than this week?

12. Daniel Merriweather - Red (Would have loved for this to go top 10)

17. Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks

29. The Script - The Man Who Can't Be Moved

34. John Legend - Ordinary People (Last week top 40 please)

34. Stooshe - Slip (Two weeks top 40. Oops. Goodbye Stooshe)

37. The Saturdays Feat Sean Paul - What About Us

41. Muse - Starlight

57. Bruno Mars - Treasure (This should go top 40 this week?)

95. Carly Rae Jepsen - Tonight I'm Getting Over You

That was REALLY quick. Already a healthy lead at the top for Blurred Lines. I do like the song though, so I'm glad. The top 3 next week is gonna be good, if Daft Punk stay up there.
So surely the same applies to Daft Punk? The reason additional versions help is because they add an additional album's attention to the song's potential cherrypicks (if that makes sense).

N-Trance's 'Set You Free' is a good example of that. Every time a new compilation is released that has that on it, it seems to re-enter the top 200 because of the attention to the album leading to a lot of cherrypicks of it, despite it not being a 'new' version.

Sorry to reply to this here, but the original thread has been locked...

IIRC N-Trance's 'Set You Free' is not available to download as a stand-alone song (or wasn't when last I looked), so that would explain why it's unusually popular as a cherry-pick..

Wasn't Price Tag OA/OS?

Yeah but everyone had heard it beforehand anyway.

I think Wild will get to number four or five this week.

Then how is that 'OA/OS'...? :P

Yeah, but I think they'll probably be able to tell when they listen to the song that it's not the same version they've been hearing on the radio. I just listened to it and it's easy to tell it's not the original version.

But by then you are screwed - you cannot return a download like you can a physical version, if you bought the wrong one...

G'WON ROBIN, amazing song.

Haha, I love your signature! I looked for it myself but I couldn't find it. :(

Also, how long did the Military Wives take to go to #1 with Wherever You Are?
But by then you are screwed - you cannot return a download like you can a physical version, if you bought the wrong one...

This was already discussed, plus you state something you've never tried!

Firstly you can listen to 1:30 mins of the song (preview) before purchasing. (not everyone does it though)

Secondly you can write to Apple (iTunes) that you downloaded something you didn't want, or you downloaded the wrong song. With applications it works, you get a payback if you're unhappy witzh the purchase. Of course if you do this regualry or too late (for example days or weeks after purchase) you will not get a payback, but once or twice a year it can happen.

Plus you cannot return a physical version just so. If it is already opened than they might not take it back. Or if it is is a bit scratched ot damaged etc...

There you go:

That Robin Thicke track is abysmal. I really can't see any appeal.

The video is embarrassing. He's a 36 year old man dressed up and pretending he's 20. Mid-life crisis anyone?

Thank goodness someone else sees and hears what I do.

Have liked some of Robin Thicke's work but not this. Knew it would be a sure fire number 1 though.

Robin Thicke no. 1 :D His best single since 'When I Get You Alone' even though that did nothing in the UK charts back in 2003. Could be looking massive first week sales similar to 'Get Lucky' at its sales peak maybe? (ie; 160k)

Jessie J up to no. 12 on iTunes? :drama: Maybe it'll grow but it just sounded dreadful on first listen. Another track where the only redeeming feature is the chorus and everything else lets the song down. NU 'Something New' imo!!!

Throw Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull & Stylo G into the mix and, imo, that's a poor set of new releases. Defo team Thicke this week. :D

'Wild' is amazing and probably her best (apart from two rent-a-rapper features - not going to sound like an old fart but in this song even one rap feature - Big Sean's one - is more than necessary, Dizzee simply doesn't suit in there), thankfully it's doing really well. The production is slick!

An Something New is amazing from start to the end. :o

Edit: Stylo G is pure massiveness too :o Today we're definitely wear completely different ears, Hits!
