Leah up to #03! :D

Wiley up to #75. Anyone know why it randomly climbed so high? Pleased though, I really like the song ... Capital and Radio 1 are supporting it so I hope it can be a hit somehow.

I think it's climbing for the same reasons that you're giving - Capital and Radio 1 are giving it huge support at the moment.

I remember seeing it as an album-only track a few days ago (although the one on the deluxe version still is, for some reason?), so i'm guessing this is the first time it's been available to buy separately

Makes me wonder if Leah could sell enough in 24 hours to sneak inside the official top 10 tomorrow. That'd be a real turn up for the books, and I doubt anyone would've expected this to potentially happen just 24 hours ago.

All the other The Voice tracks have shot up a lot in the last few hours too although they're still far behind Leah.

It takes a lot more than what she's done to go top 10 in <2 days. The only songs that have done that (which I remember) are songs that have shot to #1 with massive leads (Gaga, Adele, Daft Punk, David Guetta 'When Love Takes Over'). She'll probably do more similarly to Disclosure 'White Noise', maybe a little bit higher.

Is Gloria Gaynor's original version doing anything on iTunes?

No.

But it is #254 in Egypt

The best post of the week. ^_^

I hope Dear Darlin' is ahead of Antenna tomorrow.

 64. Lights On (feat. Angel & Tinchy Stryder) - Wiley

 195. I Love It (I Don't Care) - Venus Palermo

Yeah, you're right. It's selling a fifth of what 'Blurred Lines' is selling atm so it probably is borderline top 20 but still, Leah is already likely to chart higher in the singles chart than any of last years contestants and we're not even at the semi final stage yet.

Read in the Reality TV forum that The Voice UK last night got just over 4 million viewers. :o Yet despite that, the show is looking set to have its highest charting single taken directly from the show. It's a very bittersweet result whichever way you look at it.

806. Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso - Roar

New song from 2 of the Swedish House Mafia members, this track is taken from Monsters University which gets released in July. The chances of this being a hit from the movie are very low but I can dream

IIRC the episode which 'Little Talks' and 'Red' were in was the lowest rated of the series to date at that point but they had a bigger chart impact than any song on any previous episode!

Maybe people who haven't seen The Voice UK have stumbled across Leah at #3 on iTunes and thought "what is this?" only to then realise it's from The Voice. Maybe this might encourage more people to watch next Saturday to see what, and moreso how, the contestants will perform next.

Also with the semi finals being on a Saturday night there could easily be a big surge in the viewing figures, or at least back to the usual 7-8 million mark. I have a gut feeling that Leah being so high on iTunes is going to have a positive impact on the show going into the semi final live show.

Low ratings was because it was up against Corrie.

Took a listen to that Leah track, it was a nice reworking, the original is awful. I don't care if it's a "classic", I just find it so corny and meh. But her voice wasn't anything special. It grated on me a few times :(

That's what I think as well! But apparently she's the most popular contestant? :/

It is easy to see why, everyone else is mostly boring.

Andrea .... good lord. She can sing well but she has no star appeal to her whatsoever.

 3. Leah McFall - I Will Survive

I dont watch The Voice but i think this is a sign to pop in to William Hill and make my money stack!

I don't think it's that surprising. 4 million is low in TV ratings terms, but if you think about, the number of people downloading the song is still a VERY small percentage of the number of people who watched the show.
