After finishing runner-up in The Voice UK, Leah McFall and her coach will.i.am have already announced plans on Twitter to begin working on new original songs in New York City next week! Will has tweeted that he wants to get some songs done before the Wireless Festival in 3 weeks! Leah has already had a top 10 hit with her cover of 'I Will Survive' and could yet have another 2 chart hits with 'Killing Me Softly' and 'I Will Always Love You'. Also, her duet with Will in The Voice final has seen 'Bang Bang' rise into the top 5 on iTunes already!

 

Will and Leah have tweeted the following:

 

Will: "Its time to focus and build...let's go @leahmcfallmusic...I'm so pumped....me and leah will start next week...#newORIGINALsongs"

Great to see this happening already!! Looks like Will really wants to make Leah a massive success and they are going to make sure she has some new material out very very soon! :cheer:

If Will.I.Am is this "pumped" about Leah, he might make her a success like Cher Lloyd who he also showed a lot of interest in. Leah will probably end up being more successful in the US though in the long run, again similarly to Cher Lloyd.

Ooh nice idea, get the trash out of the way first (expecting Tom to make a Mike announcement too, then). Will be interesting to hear her singing her own songs, but I doubt it'll appeal much.

Here is one of Leah's own songs called "Love Her For Her Fire". It is fantastic!

 

If Will actually handles this correctly, she will be huge.

I'm interested to hear her material just hope her music doesn't sound too samey and screechy, something like Bang Bang would be just amazing, with some jazzy sound jammed up.

I have yet to like anyone who has released a song from the Voice. I think she will be more popular than last years winner but don't think she has a great voice.

No they didn't Andrea was terrible and boring I actually thought Andrea was the worst out the four . Both Leah and Matt were the best on the night Matt didn't deserve to finish fourth IMO . But I'm really looking forward to hearing music from Leah Will seems very keen on making her a sucess.

Andrea was my favourite of the finalists tbh - she wasn't all that interesting, but on The Voice where there's so much vocal acrobatics overuse, it's nice to hear a soothing voice, sung impeccably and simply. Andrea did that, Leah never once sung a song normally, without wrecking the melody and adding a million unnecessary notes (Bang Bang aside sorta).

 

I'm interested to see what Will has in mind for her - I think the hype made Leah seem better than she was imo, is she really that marketable?

Leah is technically a stronger singer '''':)'''. I can see why some people view Andrea as the 'better' singer - she has a lovely, clear and pure voice with great diction whilst Leah doesn't have all of that although she can hit higher notes, hold them for longer and has a much better range. Personally I prefer Leah but Andrea is a great singer too and some people are being not very nice about her just because Leah didn't win.

 

Looking forward to this anyway, Leah is a great ready made artist and could easily be huge - of all the coaches Will is easily the one who's most likely to do that.

Leah is too good to flop Imo.

 

Can't wait for her material.

Anything BUT something along the lines of Bang Bang, please (and Killing Me Softly). She was rather good at I Will Always Love You (the way she controlled her voice), so I'd like to see more songs like that from her, but each to their own I suppose.

They need to get a release out as quick as possible, the voice needs a big success to make the show some way credible and worth while. Andrea Begley has done one better already than leanne by managing a top 75 hit but i wonder had they done the same last year would leanne have managed a couple of top 75 entries.

Leah is now in Los Angeles and will begin writing songs with Will imminently! :D

She's said on twitter that the version of Will.I.am's Bang Bang with herself on it will be on ITunes very soon :D
