I agree, that UK Singles chart is better, than Billboard Hot 100 chart (which include airplay, streaming).

Budget chart is really nice solution of this problem.

In late 90s we have minimum 10 new songs in top 40 (and 20 in top 75) every week.

How many new songs we can see in UK Singles Top 100 now ?

The Hot 100 includes other things since it's trying to rank songs by popularity (I think its methods are questionable, but thats what it's trying to do). UK chart is sales, so completely different, and shouldn't be compared. The US equivalent to the UK chart is "Hot Digital Songs", not the Hot 100.

I agree though, I really wish there were more new entries each week in the chart. I don't think 59p songs are to blame though. It seems like some weeks we get more re-entries from discounts than we do normal songs (and if those discounts hadn't been there it would've probably just been old songs that already spent 20 weeks in the top 40).

I say this a lot, but I think Radio 1 should play the new and re-entries in the #41-#100 region each week (and then not play the longest running chart hits in the #11-#40 region to make up the time). There's not much anybody can do about what's selling, but they shouldn't have to play Moves Like Jagger or Ho Hey every Sunday for 42 weeks or whatever imo.

Well, I like One Direction and this is coming from someone who doesn't usually like pure pop music at all.

Was about to start a discussion re: whether anything from Dizzee Rascal's album on Monday will get cherry-picked a lot; but alas it's been moved back to September 30th (or was this always it's original date?)

A second single (fourth if you include "Bassline Junkie" and "H Town") needs to start getting promotion ASAP, especially if he's going to hold back it's release a la "Goin' Crazy" (though that backfired). There's collaborations with Jessie J and Tinie Tempah on there, though both of those artists are releasing their own material; so it's not the best timed release. Other collaborations include Angel, Sean Kingston and will.i.am; what do we think?

Because they have no talent and their songs sound too cheesy

It's ridiculous to claim they have no talet just becaus you don't like them. I don't really like them either but Liam has a good voice, Harry is decent too. Louis, Zayn and Niall aren't the best but to be fair I expect some artists you like can't sing amazingly well.

I don't know, but the Jessie J and Sean Kingston collabs must absolutely not be singles.

:re: 1459. Diana Vickers - Cinderella (Pre-order)

The radio tour seems to be beginning to work! As well as the Biz Sessions she has done for The Sun that were released today. I know this is only a very small number of pre-orders at this position, but allow me to get excited this once! :kink:

This is like five pre-orders Ryan.

Why are you trying to paint yourself as some indie guy? You have Lady GaGa, Girls Aloud and Madonna amongst others in your top 100 songs of all time.

Anyway, I find it hilarious how this forum criticises One Direction for flaws that the likes of Britney and The Saturdays have too. They aren't talented and are also very cheesy.

59p :P

'Hot Right Now' must surely be close to outselling 'Louder' by now - I really hope it does overtake, it's far better.

There's nothing wrong with not being super talented, really. Who cares if One Direction haven't even got vocal chords as long as the music is good.

"Hot Right Now" remains the only great material Rita Ora has put out.

Awkward when it isn't.

So agreed. Everything else is so bad that I'd potentially put her in my top 5 worst artists of all time.

I'd put her in my top 5 biggest musical non-events of all time. And I thought Pixie Lott was awful...

Well she is but you know...

It's a start though! And look on the pop chart now...
