Avicii's fast building hype should be enough to encourage the label to release the track ASAP. I reckon it could nab the #1 in two weeks time (unless there's another 'big' release I'm forgetting).

PURCHASE 'GENTLEMAN' and I will delete griff from Buzzjack.

The tumbleweed is in a LARGE QUANTITY :basil:

Hope John Newman can do 130k this week the. Break 100k next again the. Avicci gets released at the perfect time to explode with a massive first week and maybe even keep 1D off the top spot on the 28/7!!
Brilliant to see John finally get there as my birthday finishes. Just in good timing. Now get a big lead please.

JOHN NEWMAN HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM ITUNES

THE SATS ARE NOW TOP 10 BECAUSE OF IT :cheer:

I wish

10. The Wanted - Walks Like Rihanna  1.5%

11. The Saturdays - Gentleman 33.7% 0.5%

The Saturdays will probably just get into the top 10 as they will continue to gain on The Wanted who are dropping quickly still, plus the Daybreak performance will probably get them that extra 2 or 3% that they may end up needing. I can't see them staying in the top 10 long enough if they do get there to get top 10 officially though.

[**] 73| Avicii - Wake Me Up

Would love it so much if Avicii now beat John Newman to #01

He'd have to actually release first. The entry at #73 is a pre-order. (I could see it possibly going top 20 as a pre-order like 'Blurred Lines', looking like a massive hit in waiting! I wonder if the pre-order release will cause Spark Productions to die down a little, they don't seem to be getting deleted (New Music Masters' version of 'I Love It' is also still available and at #60)).

49. I Will Wait - Mumford & Sons

61. Little Lion Man - Mumford & Sons

'The Cave' not top 100 yet - seems 'Little Lion Man' is definitely the more 'classic' (for want of a better word) of the 2 despite its lower peak.

78. The Gambler - Kenny Rogers

My first thought was that he's dead :drama: Googled his name and it seems this is also Glastonbury effect.

Just realised this! :( So annoying. August 11th is a joke if that continues to stay as the release date.

I'm waiting for Gabz to smash it, obviously won't happen but that would be hysterical

For all I've slated the looning, Love Me Again is quite good (just very overrated), although Wake Me Up is muh better and definitely much better than the overrated I Could Be The One so it would be a good #1.

1 John Newman

Love Me Again

2 Icona Pop

I Love It (feat. Charli XCX)

6 Gabz

Lighters (The One)

I can't, I I just can't!

When did Newman start slaying again? :w00t: :cheer:

The Flopperdays flopping down the charts there back down to no. 28. I said its airplay was abysmal! That's 'cos it tried competing wit John Newman + his tribute act (who must've leapt ahead of Flopperdays at some point)

Wake Me Up is [..] definitely much better than the overrated I Could Be The One so it would be a good #1.

Definitely agree with this! I could never get into 'I Could Be The One', it was just boring. 'Wake Me Up' is a return to form.

You don't seem to be in good spirits missingyou :( Say, go onto iTunes and purchase a copy of Sir Newman's "Love Me Again" - that'll cheer you up! :D

 Yes!

Agreed wit Bree about Avicci. It really was overrated, but this new track is a summer scorcher (much like Newman!)

Adele, Newman after yo weave

I'd love to see Avicii get a second UK #1 and it's looking very realistic right now. I think he'd be the first Swedish act to score more than one UK chart topper since ABBA although Eric Prydz, Ace Of Base and Basshunter came very close!. Talking of Avicii and (half of) ABBA;

(this thread is so utterly ridiculous so far that I may as well just throw in a link to my favourite song of the past couple of months, seeing as it's vaguely topical :D)

I have already said it in the Avicii thread but I don't get the I Could Be The One hate at ALL. It was one of the songs of the year for me, and the best thing he has done so far.
Realistically I would rather see John Newman at least 2 weeks at #1 before the Avicii track drops. I must admit I do prefer Wake Me Up over I Could Be The One, it could also be in with a chance to end up in the top 5 year to date chart, if the track stays at #1 for a few weeks.
