I haven't heard Burn yet but:

1 Figure 8

2 Guns And Horses

3 Starry Eyed

4 Anything Could Happen

(I Need Your Love)

5 Lights

(Wonderman)

-

6 Explosions

-

7 Your Song

8 Under The Sheets

9 The Writer

The top 5 / 7 are flawless, 'Explosions' is also really good. The other 3 are pretty weak. 'Under The Sheets' might actually only just be growing on me now

1. Figure 8 (still sounding amazing!)

2. Anything Could Happen

3. Under the Sheets

4. Lights

5. Starry Eyed

6. Wonderman

7. Guns & Horses

8. Your Song

9. I Need Your Love

10. The Writer

11. Explosions

12. Burn

Stay Awake (the Madeon collab) and Only You would both finish quite high if they were pushed as singles too

01. Under the Sheets

02. Figure 8 (should have done better in the charts :))

03. Lights

04. Anything Could Happen

05. Guns & Horses

06. I Need Your Love

07. The Writer

08. Burn

09. Starry Eyed

10. Your Song

11. Explosions

12. Wonderman

I'd do a list of favourites, but i would probably just end up naming everything she's done.(except Your Song)

Also, that cover is giving me cheap hooker vibes.

I've listened to that preview and on first impressions, I'm now blown away by many of the new tracks. Hopefully they will be growers. 'Stay Awake' is something special though.

01. Lights

02. Figure 8

03. Burn

04. The Writer

05. Anything Could Happen

06. Guns & Horses

07. Explosions

08. Starry Eyed

09. Your Song

10. Under The Sheets

Immaculate singles collection there. Ellie really does make amazing songs, however I would've done the Halcyon era like this:

01. Anything Could Happen

02. Figure 8

03. Explosions

04. My Blood

05. Only You

06. Hanging On Ft. Tinie Tempah

*Re-Release*

01. Burn

02. Stay Awake (Unless there's something better).

Done.

I just never would have rereleased the album. Its been a success and judging my the snippets on youtube and itunes it feels like halcyon (which is a masterpiece and my all time favourite album) has been tarnished by these new tracks which just dont sound right.

I also never would have released explosions without the advert, it should have been my blood then only for summer single.

The new tracks are so much more commercial/mainstream sounding than those on the original album. How Long Will I Love You is rather gorgeous though and Under Control and Flashlight are brilliant. She's much more of an albums act for me, I can't pinpoint a single song that she's done that's perfect to me (Figure 8 was damn close to it though) but she rarely slips below 8/10 standard with anything. Both albums, and their respective repackages are fantastic.
When I saw this title I thought she'd covered the Siobhan Donaghy song of the same name. Phew, panic averted.

I'm worried about how commercial it is. Not to be one of those people who can't take their favourite artists going a tad more commercial (and Ellie has had pure pop tracks in the past, just look at 'Lights'), but the songs I've heard just seem to have so little of Ellie about them. I mean there's 'Burn', which she didn't even write, and then 'Flashlight' which is 'Hot Right Now' mark 2 until the chorus. It's such a drastic change from the standard album, and it's really not a direction I wish her to go further down. I'm fine with commercial Ellie as long as it feels like Ellie, but so far I don't think Halcyon Days does.

It was released in Ireland yesterday so I've downloaded it, the new songs really are fantastic. They're more commercial definitely and a step away from the main album but I think I'd choose to listen to the 10 new songs over the original album (although time will tell if it stays that way). Definitely loving Halcyon Days more than I did with Halcyon by this point. My favourites are Stay Awake and Hearts Without Chains
The re-release, just like the original album, is so hit & miss. I like Burn, Goodness Gracious, Under Control & Midas Touch but the rest are dire.

What with 'Burn' being #1 this week and possibly next week too, it looks like it has set 'Halcyon Days' up perfectly, hopefully the whole project will have a #1 to its name now.

I am obsessed with 'Stay Awake' and I'd love for it to be the next single however I'm worried it will probably do a 'Figure 8' as all her second singles seem to underperform.
