Let’s Get It Started was released as the fourth and final single from Elephunk. The album version was titled Let’s Get Retarded which is obviously not safe to release as a single so it was re-recorded for release. It was the first single in the US to sell 500,000 downloads and has since sold over 3 million there. The song was also used heavily in the game, The Urbz: Sims in the City, which the group also featured as game characters and I remember the game very well. It’s one of my favourite singles from them so I’m really happy to see it doing well. These three songs are all very close in their points and so Just Can’t Get Enough manages to sneak into the Top 10. It is the highest place single from their last studio album which comes to the surprise of no one. I find song good but definitely not the group’s best. I saw it as a weak single choice as it didn't scream big hits but then I realised The Beginning didn't actually contain many good songs or big hits . The third single from Monkey Business to fall is Don’t Lie and features more of a chilled out sound than most of their singles. I’m possibly surprised that it managed to get this high but then I suppose it is slightly different to their usual sound.

Let's Get It Started should be higher than JCGE and DL imo. Can't believe Beep is still to come too!

Big Girls Don't Cry, Meet Me Halfway or Boom Boom Pow to win now please <3

Where Is The Love cannot win, one of the worst songs I've ever heard I'm afraid :( Bleh.

The last song to be a feature is Beep which doesn’t surprise me at all . I was considering not including it due to will.i.am only singing on half of the chorus, but I felt that it did have it’s fans on here and will.i.am did write and produce the song as well as ‘singing’. It’s been noted that it’s similar to My Humps which is probably because 8 year olds will be happily singing the lyrics with no idea of what they are actually singing.

YAY. My favourite Black Eyed Peas song is here and has a very respectable position considering I believe that it’s not remembered that well. I still would have loved it to have done better though :D as I love the sound, the production, the video and even the bizarre horse bit. will.i.am claimed it was the sequel to Shut Up which is still to come… Even after the fabulous Elephunk era, this is what made me become interested into the group. I loved the whole Monkey Business era and album so it was disappointing to see them change their sound so differently after their hiatus, although it proved better for their success. It is the last single from Monkey Business to feature and the song didn’t see many votes in the extremes with the votes mainly coming from the middle.

Background information first, the song came about after the previous commercial failure of their first two albums. Ron Fair approached them and suggested a crossover to a more mainstream pop sound. will.i.am in particular resisted the idea for fear that they would be seen as sellouts. (!!!!) However, the group agreed and Fergie joined them with this being the first single to feature her. Her presence isn’t that great though as it is Justin Timberlake who takes the lead. His label preferred it that he was not classified as a feature due to fears of overexposure and he doesn’t feature in the video either. The song meant a lot to many people after the fairly recent 9/11 attacks and the Iraq War that was taking place at the time. This is probably one of the only times that will.i.am has produced a serious song with some serious lyrics and some of you hate him for it! The song did create a lot of love here though which is great to see. This actually helps The Black Eyed Peas have SOME form of credibility even if it maybe a tiny slice in some people’s eyes.

YOUR FINAL FIVE:

Big Girls Don't Cry

Boom Boom Pow

Glamorous (feat Ludacris)

Meet Me Halfway

Shut Up

Hey Mama beaten by This Is Love is criminal. Hey Mama is ten years old but still sound so fresh to me!

The top five is generally good, but it's OBLIGATORY that Boom Boom Pow or Glamorous win.

Shut Up is my fave of theirs so I'm glad that is top 5 although I have a feeling it'll be out next. I see Meet Me Halfway winning.

Boom Boom Pow marked a significant change in the sound of the BEP after they returned from their hiatus. It also heralded the start of will.i.am’s obsession of being ready for the future. Also, the song was the start of a massively successful album campaign for them and once this reached Number One in the US, they stayed there for 26 consecutive weeks! Boom Boom Pow managed to stay there for 12 weeks while I Gotta Feeling replaced it and held the spot for another 14 weeks. I was really unsure about the song when I first heard as it was something that I totally didn’t expect but I really do love it now and it seems that you all do too! However, the album version is irritating to say the least as it contains a minute long intro about the future or something that I can’t be bothered to listen to again. The huge success of The E.N.D meant that they tried to replicate it with the next album but The Beginning didn’t really work out for them as well. IMO, this was mainly down to most of the album sounding like The E.N.D. cast-offs.

Big Girls Don't Cry

Glamorous (feat Ludacris)

Meet Me Halfway

Shut Up

Edited by Rabbit Heart

I liked The Beginning. It had some songs like Take It Off, XOXOXO, Someday, Light Up the Night which are way better than Don't Stop the Party, I don't know why they chose that.

Boom Boom Pow is incredible. Big Girls Don't Cry needs to be out next.

I can see a 'Big Girls Don't Cry' win now.

01. 'Big Girls Don't Cry'

02. 'Meet Me Halfway'

03. 'Glamorous'

04. 'Shut Up'

That's how I think it'll turn out. Surprised 'Shut Up' is as high as it is though, I was expecting top 10 (8 or 9) but not top 5! :o It's a good song though. Gutted 'Where Is the Love?' fell short of the top 5. Deserves to be top 5! It's my favourite BEP related track.

Meet Me Halfway just falls short of the Top 3 which may come as a surprise. I really liked it when I listened to the album but the overplay made me grow tired of it more than the previous two singles. It was released as the third single from The E.N.D. and is a very Fergie-led song. Following a performance on The X Factor, the track managed to sell over 100,000 copies to block Leona Lewis from reaching Number One, marking the start of her downfall in success. Perhaps surprisingly, it ‘only’ managed to peak at 7 in the US despite the domination of the previous two singles, although that is probably what actually hindered It.

Lyrically, Glamorous is an autobiographical account about how Fergie has remained true to her background, despite widespread fame and mainstream success. The song was a massive success in America and it became her second Number One single there. It's surprised me how well this has done as I never thought it would be a competitor for Number One in this at all. However, many of you love it, and it attracted little dislike. It receives less 11s than Meet Me Halfway but the amount of 10s makes up for that. I find the song quite average and also sort of bland.

Out of these two Shut Up to win bye
YASSSSS! :cheer: I'd like 'Big Girls Don't Cry' to win as it's the far superior song, but this is a BEP's rate so a win for the surprising 'Shut Up' (I honestly wouldn't have had that down to be the highest BEP track!) would be welcome also.
