Calvin could release the song that's literally just the sound of a HAIRDRYER, and it would go top 10 these days

(tbf despite a few horrors (i.e. Let's Go, Drinking From the Bottle) most of his singles this era haven't been terrible, just kinda MEH. 'Acceptable In the 80s' alone pretty much blows them out the water)

'Acceptable In The 80s' was my favourite before 'Feel So Close' usurped it.

After the whole drama he caused for Leona, you'd think Avicii would at least credit Aloe Blacc... I'd say Aloe contributes at least 50% to WMU's success - probably more. What a shame.

To be fair, Avicii only caused "drama" because Leona ripped off Fade Into Darkness without asking him/paying him royalties for use of the instrumental. I'm pretty sure that Avicii got permission to, for example, sample Etta James in Levels.

I do think Aloe should have an official credit though, it's not as if he's a complete unknown like Salem Al Fakir or Noonie Bao who have provided vocals for him in the past and not been credited.

 66. Lana Del Rey & Cedric Gervais - Summertime Sadness (Lana Del Rey vs. Cedric Gervais) [Cedric Gervais Remix] [Radio Edit]

Lana! Lana! Lana! Lana! Lana! Lana! Lana! Lana! Lana!

I f***ing hate Lana. So, it's made me upset that I just heard Summertime Sadness (the Cedric Gervais remix) and absolutely loved it. :(

I do think the "country" section is selling the song, more than anything. I'm not bothered about the crediting though, I'm sure they agreed on it before the song was released.

Yay Calvin :D He's climbed loads in the last few days, but I was expecting him to stall just before hitting the top 10. Just can't stop him these days. This will be his 14th top 10 hit as a credited artist already :o
Such a smash. Such iconic performances as well:

Iconic indeed. I wish Cassie cared more about her career commercially, all her material is always excellent

Congrats to Calvin for another top ten single but I think we should remember that he had five singles released before the album and he gets absolutely massive airplay from Capital.

Amd how do you get massive airplay from Capital? By being highly successful and popular in the first place!!1! (Or signed to their record label).

Name one other artist recently who's had 3 post-album top 10 singles without releasing single remixes, regardless of how many they released before the album.

Capital are playing all of Calvin's song so much because they're so commercial. If he had released Here 2 China as a single Capital wouldn't have played it.

David Guetta got Titanium, Turn Me On, Without You and Play Hard in the top 10 following the release of Nothing But The Beat. I wouldn't count She Wolf as that was out before he re-released the album. Play Hard did have a single remix but that didn't do anything in the chart.

Pink could potentially get a third post-album top 10 with True Love.

It is still a rare occurrance and Calvin deserves to be congratulated for getting another top 10 hit.

530. Cassie - Me & U :kink: get in the top 500!

Guetta is pretty much the only other act on par with Calvin's top 10 strike rate at the moment (their most recent albums are tied for the studio albums with the most top 10 hits on them I think, with Calvin obviously about to pull ahead again). Good point about P!nk. The point I was making was really that the large number of pre-album singles doesn't take away from the fact getting so many post-album singles top 10 is still a pretty rare thing :P

DJ's seem to be able to get multiple top ten hits because they collaborate with new people on every song meaning there's a different voice on every single. I think it's easier for them to get top ten singles than the likes of Pink.

As for artists who got post album singles into the top ten, there's Taylor Swift as well (Trouble, 22, Everything Has Changed).
