A voice as unique as Jake Bugg's, amazing lyrics and a melody that fits in so well with a beautiful tone. He is just so unique and different, like nothing we've ever heard before! I mean look at Rudimental - no.1 smashes with John Newman, but the latest without him flopped. This is why he's slaying all bases, it's got to be that voice

You mean Waiting All Night which was number 1? What a flop

And only one number 1 with John Newman: Feel The Love. Not Giving In where he was featured as well, got to #14.

He probably means Right Here (ft. Foxes) which has peaked at #72 so far :P But his point is definitely flawed given Not Giving In got to #14 as you said and Ella Eyre helped get Waiting All Night to #1.

I hope 'Summertime Sadness' climbs to and peaks at #9. It'd be great if Lana could get another top 10 hit but SS doesn't deserve to peak higher than 'Video Games' - especially not the remix.

As far as I know Right Here went #72 as an album track, and it will only be released in the next couple of week's as a full single, btw it is climbing up the chart, last time I've checked it was in the top 50.

'Right Here' first charted as the B-Side to 'Waiting All Night' (and that was just the Andy C remix).
To be fair it got top 75 before it was made 59p IIRC (maybe even top 40?)

At the time, being reduced to 59p seemed to have virtually no effect on the song. It was top 30 and upon being made 59p it didn't really climb any faster than it already was. I think we can probably thank the price reduction for it holding up so well, though.

It looks like Lana Del Rey is actually going to have a proper hit single to her name. :o Pleasing, the song isn't my favourite on the album at all but the remix is growing on me.
Will be interesting to see if the album gets much of a boost, hopefully there's be a Ceremonials-esque digital re-release with the remix on it.

This is what I want to, although a number one a-la Spectrum style would also be welcome :P But Born to Die and Video Games are her crown jewels, so it's a shame if they get outpeaked if it's not going to be a mega-hit.

What, 'Waiting All Night'?

Yup!

Oh ... nevermind then! Thought Rudimental got to no.1 with both Newman releases! :o

"Video Games" sold very well, I think it's over 350K last time I checked.

How is 'Video Games' not a proper hit single?

I was going to say, I think Video Games is over 400k, if not then it's pretty close!
I have Video Games on 464,700 and Born To Die on 245,000 so I would say both are 'proper hit singles'. They've probably sold more than that by now thanks to trickle sales, as I got these figures from vidcapper/end of year charts a few months ago when I was calculating the top sellers of the decade.

'Video Games' did a lot better than I thought then! I'm glad though, truly astonishing track. How did 'Born To Die' sell?

*edit - nevermind, answered above. Ta!

Re; Lana Del Rey's slow progress up iTunes, this is usually the signs of a promising single with decent longevity. A bit like 'Just Give Me A Reason' before it started taking off hovered around the top 50 on iTunes for a while before slowly working its way up. If the remix to 'Summertime Sadness' continues climbing next week it could be a top 10 contender a week on Sunday.

'Video Games' is still Lana's best single though.

 22. Summertime Sadness! :D

I would love for this to go top 40 officially this weekend but I'm not sure if it will have sold enough given that it wasn't even top 100 until Friday afternoon but with multiple versions it could do it, I haven't seen such an impressive climb like this all year for this kind of track!!!

Go LanRic coming for that top 20!!

Who would have predicted this would be the hot topic on this thread lol

I'm really impressed it looks like it'll be a hit, especially as Lana is usually an albums artist - I have the albums but not bought a single uh single for example.
I do love surprise chart climbs like this - well, when they're not by novelty acts *cough*PJ&D*cough*. :puke: Now for Avicii to remix 'National Anthem' and for it to storm the charts. Joking - Avicii should stay well away from Lana, she might lose a credit.
