August 9, 201311 yr In regards to Louis... two words SHAYNE WARD.... They probably want to get him out on a high so they're probably hoping he can go all the way. How is that sending him out on a high? Shayne Ward has totally gone on to produce albums by the dozen, with countless #1's and such a high media profile.
August 9, 201311 yr How is that sending him out on a high? Shayne Ward has totally gone on to produce albums by the dozen, with countless #1's and such a high media profile. This was the 2nd season of X Factor though. It didn't kick off properly until Leona had won the Season after. And the albums he did produce (bar the last one) were actually successful and he had several top 10 hits! Anyway, he still won the show when Louis was his mentor so... And it IS sending him out on a high. That category is always one of the main categories/always has a favourite or two in.
August 9, 201311 yr New trailer: That's a great trailer, but you can tell that they haven't learnt their lesson about trying to "connect" with the public by showing real lives that they've failed in for the last two years.
August 10, 201311 yr Author Apparently there is a TWIST as to how the boot camp will work. The source is a poster on digital spy so it may not be true but have a read: Bootcamp is very different this year As you know, each judge now has their catergory Walsh- Boys Scherzy- Girls Barlow- Groups Mrs O- Overs This is how it works Each catergory performs in slots, so all the groups will perform one after another There are 6 chairs to the side of the stage, 1 per slot at judges houses in that catergory. Each act will sing, then the mentor decides whether to put them through or not. If they go through, they take a seat at the side. HOWEVER, if another act in the catergory comes on and the mentor wants them in their final 6, they can eliminate a contestant from the chairs Sounds interesting but I can't help but get the feeling that this whole idea is ripped off from The Voice (but without the spinning chairs of course) Edited August 10, 201311 yr by Thermometer
August 11, 201311 yr Hmm, that does sound a bit like a Voice rip-off. An interesting twist nonetheless, though.
August 11, 201311 yr With regards to the categories, they're pretty understandable when you think about it.Let's be honest in saying that Louis and Sharon aren't exactly great mentors. In nine series of the show, Louis has only been given the groups or the Over-25s and both are often seen as the weaker categories. With Nicole having the 'younger appeal', it was obvious that she would be given the girls if she had the boys last year. It's probably going to be Gary's last year and so he should be given the opportunity to have the groups because of Take That. Louis is a better mentor than Sharon and so by default, he gets the boys. I'm sure Simon won't want another boy winner either as he'll want to focus on James Arthur.

It's only right that if this is his last year he gets to work with the category that he's most comfortable with, and will know how to deal with appropriately. I think with the boys in his first series, he was a bit out of his depth (that sounds like I'm saying he doesn't know what he's doing, but he didn't really get far with any of them... :kink:)
August 11, 201311 yr Yeah I've been wanting to see what he would do with the groups since he was first announced as a judge. Thinking about it, I can only remember Frankie Cocozza out of the boys that he mentored  EDIT: Just remembered Marcus! Edited August 11, 201311 yr by Rabbit Heart
