September 1, 201311 yr Author To be fair to Bruce, you can have fun without coming rolling into the bedroom at all the hours in the morning, waking everybody up, and causing a disturbance. I can see where Charlotte's coming from, but of course she doesn't care about the other people in there because she just wants to have fun, so is gonna have a go at people who aren't really like that, and prefer a good night's sleep. Wise words from Vicky there, too. Charlotte really does need to show some respect. Bruce does seem to have a bit of a temper, but the way she spoke to him was a bit uncalled for. "foul-mouthed little cow"
September 1, 201311 yr I can see where Bruce is coming from, to an extent, but seeing as the lights don't go off until 2am, he really should expect that other people are going to have a laugh, especially the youngsters. I do agree with her though, he gets angry way too often, it's ridiculous - about time someone dared to stand up for him, he goes off on one way too frequently, it's embarassing. I was pissing when Charlotte said "red tomato face, needs to put itself on some bread"! I hate Vicky's philosophy though, really bugs me when people say you should respect your elders. Bruce clearly wasn't in a position to show respect to Courtney and Charlotte, respect should work two ways.

Bruce clearly wasn't in a position to show respect to Courtney and Charlotte, respect should work two ways. Me too, it does seem that because he's older than everyone else Bruce thinks he has control over everything, like his tantrum over the bathroom. But if he even watched Big Brother (which any sane person would before going in if they hadn't before!) he would surely know that they hardly ever go to bed before 2am anyway! I just don't think people like that suit BB at all, there is always a majority of young housemates who are going to be up past that and be having a bit of fun. They aren't harming anyone. As annoying as it is to be woken up/kept from sleeping he can't be expected to be respected just because he's an elder when he struggles to act like one! And good on her for sticking up to him and showing him he isn't the omnipresent force of all in the house. I saw that they hugged it out and made up, but Bruce will only do it again to someone else, or Charlotte again. I think he's in danger of being the next out, well actually I'm fairly sure Sophie won't dodge nomination again and she's pretty much a cert to go if so.
September 1, 201311 yr Author He's not said at all he's expecting to be respected by Charlotte just because he's her elder, it was Vicky that said it, and it's quite perfectly understandable considering she was looking at the situation from an outsider's point of view, and what she saw of the way Charlotte was speaking to Bruce, she obviously didn't like. It's perfectly OK saying that respect is a two-way street, but he's not really disrespected her by saying he would appreciate a good night's sleep instead of being woken by drunken messes, who should know that they can have fun, but steer clear of the bedroom, and when they are going to bed, not make too much noise.
September 1, 201311 yr I hate Vicky's philosophy though, really bugs me when people say you should respect your elders. Bruce clearly wasn't in a position to show respect to Courtney and Charlotte, respect should work two ways. Oh gosh YES. If that elder doesn't respect you then why should I, is usually what I think. It's quite a catch 22 here. 'Elders' always complain the youth is getting more and more out of control not respecting elders and shit or whatever but surely most youngsters would act normally if they weren't treated like shit just because they were born later in life (surely it's SUCH an achievement to have been born 30 years earlier than someone else. Yeah, your mother gave birth to you in 1800's, have your f***ing high horse as a prize). So yeah it's always going to be a problem :( Bruce is old so he'll obviously want some peace and quiet but his age can't be an arguement here at all. They are all there for a reason and all are equal. There's no king of the house who makes up the rules.

And, for the record Calum, I wasn't actually saying Bruce was to blame for the respect comment, like I said, I don't agree with Vicky's philosophy herself. She was saying that Charlotte shouldn't have gone in there effing and blinding and speaking about his age has an excuse, but I don't believe Bruce walking out of the bedroom mumbling like this and that was very respectful and was just him going off in another huff. People shouldn't have to tiptoe around others just because of their age, Bruce was bringing the house morale down, so Charlotte decided to tackle this. Besides, how can you possibly argue that Bruce did show her respect, and then  the fact he called her a "foul mouthed little cow", what part of that sentence is respectful of her? I don't think Charlotte spoke to him respectfully either, but they certainly weren't willing to show one another respect, his age doesn't make him more in the right.
September 1, 201311 yr Author And, for the record Calum, I wasn't actually saying Bruce was to blame for the respect comment, like I said, I don't agree with Vicky's philosophy herself. Oh I know you weren't, I completely understand your comment. It was in response to Liam who worded it as if Bruce thinks/has shown that.
September 1, 201311 yr I didn't mean that either... What I meant was Vicky's philosophy of respecting your elders (seemingly no matter what) is clearly flawed, using Bruce's attitude as an example. I actually think Vicky was more in the wrong than Bruce (she should have kept well out of it), I understand Bruce not wanting to be disturbed in sleep but at the same time it's a house that he's sharing with people a lot younger than him they are naturally going to be going to bed later than him. He does just give off that air of self important miserable old man though, I wasn't going off what was in that clip/argument alone but rather off of his entire attitude he's shown throughout the show. Either way, he shouldn't be acting like that and Vicky is wrong to say he deserves respect just because he's older, than his mentality is anything but elder.
September 1, 201311 yr Author Courtney is so gorgeous! Tonight's episode has been fab, but what the hell was Bruce doing in that dance-off? He always seems to be really strange during the tasks, like he was when he did the slapping-his-face-with-a-fish one. Carol funny as ever though, she really is the star of the show. Although I don't like how she was taking the piss out of Lauren and Sophie earlier (more having a dig at Sophie, though). :(
September 1, 201311 yr I f***ing hate Bruce, but I was laughing (whilst cringing) a lot at his dancing. That is exactly how my dad was dancing in clubs on holiday.
September 1, 201311 yr Courtney really is stunning! :o I really like her, she is so bubbly and just cute to watch. Reminds me of Ashley Roberts actually! Charlotte & Mario make such a good team, I love them so much together. Vicky & Bruce are such boring old sods, all they do is complain about literally everything.
September 1, 201311 yr Good god, does Carol do ANYTHING apart from slag people off? :/ Her, Sophie & Louie are all terrible for it! :(
September 1, 201311 yr Author Carol  I agree Jack, I really liked Charlotte and Mario together, would be amazing if they kept that friendship going, and kept doing things like they did in tonight's episode. <3
September 1, 201311 yr Her, Sophie & Louie are all terrible for it! :( They really don't seem to have ANY other side to them, Carol being worst for it. I don't even think I've seen her smile since Day 1, she just bitches about absolutely everybody.
September 1, 201311 yr I really liked her in the very beginning but she has had such a rapid decline.
September 1, 201311 yr I agree Jack, I really liked Charlotte and Mario together, would be amazing if they kept that friendship going, and kept doing things like they did in tonight's episode. <3 They have been since like Day 5, they played some weird game where they spoke to one another in a made-up language, so funny! Just doesn't get shown much.
September 1, 201311 yr Author Ugh, Lauren being so protective over Courtney is more annoying each day. :( She's not the only one there that can look after her, glad Sophie told her that.
September 1, 201311 yr Carol is doing my head in, as most of them are bitching about Courtney! Leave her be, she is just having fun for f***s sake. Courtney however is a babe  So much fun, I would love her to win. I do like Charlotte, but I love her more.
