The videos are f***ing stunning.

The more I listen to this to this album the more I am falling in love with it. I know making albums about black empowerment seems to be the thing to do right now given the American racial climate but this album really does it in a way that no other does; it manages to say "I am proud" and really explore all the issues of black enpowerment and oppression without once sounding angry of bitter in the slightest. Instead it is full of nuance and the record really allows time for pondering. It really is the most Solange way to go about it, classy till the end.

Heard this once and I actually found it quite boring? I'm kinda disappointed. 'True' was so much stronger for me. Don't remember much about this one if I'm honest. :(

I've listened twice and can't actually remember much from it myself but I was more blaming that on my lack of concentration.

Nothing will touch 'True' that's in a league of its own but i'm hoping with more listens this can worm its way into my affections. 'Sol Angel..' is brilliant and I know this is a completely different project but I just hope there is a lot there to discover because on my listens so far I can't even recall a single lyric (except for the Tina Taught Me interlude which is brilliant).

I am not giving up though because the reviews can't be lying and I know she has so much to offer I just need to give it my full time and attention.

I'm honestly loving this just as much as the 'True' EP which I never thought would be possible as the former is one of my favourite releases of the last 5 years. I loved it first listen but wasn't sure how many repeated listens it would have in it but I have to say I couldn't be more wrong. The songs just keep on revealing themselves to me all at different times, so many gorgeous melodies throughout which just refuse to stop coming out. On top of that the lyrical content and incredibly important message of the project as a whole.

I'm gushing. Join me guys please.

Like with Frank's album, I'm getting into this album slowly because (1) these albums need time and concentration as Haus said and (2) both artists release an album every 4 years so I don't want to play both records to death. Having said that, I've played the 'Cranes In The Sky' video 4 times now. Her voice is ugh.

I'm so thrilled about the amazing success this seems to be having initially over stateside.

I doubt it will actually reach #1 but a top 5 album for her would be amazing. Indie sweetheart no more. Couldn't think of anyone more deserving than Solange, especially with an album as special as this.

HDD indicates she could get a #1 debut though. Her sales have increased by the day whereas Bon Iver are frontloaded. We'll see but a #1 album for Solange would be a game-changer for her.

This is one of my albums of the year, as is Bon Iver. What a week.

How incredible are 'Junie' and 'Don't Wish Me Well?'

Indeed, what a week!

This is growing and growing  I like the fact it's quite personal and she isn't in the shadow of Bé (while both shine in their own way right now). Go Solange!

A nice 8.7 from Pitchfork

Also it is looking like it is actually going to be #1 in the US, would be quite something.

HDD:

Columbia's Solange looks set to take the #1 spot on the HITS SPS chart later today after a tight race, while Jagjaguwar's Bon Iver will have the top album. Here's how it looks right in the home stretch.

Solange (Columbia) 72.4k SPS, 46.2k album

Bon Iver (Jagjaguwar) 68.5k SPS, 56.7k album

Stay tuned for many more numbers.

This is huge for her! And those sales... :o

Solange should smack Jay-Z around more often, I guess.

Great to see this doing so well for her!

SUCH a special album, definitely one of the year's best.

92 on Metacritic, I am honestly so stoked for her.

Same score as 'Lemonade' and the joint 2nd most critically acclaimed album of 2016 thus far. What kind of new Jackson family.

I'm in awe that Solange has actually broken through finally! I always thought being Beyonce's sister would be a curse for her but ASATT has clearly struck a chord with the GP and people can finally see that she's an artist in her own right.

She's also #17 in the UK which is her first Top 40 album. Hopefully it climbs when CITS impacts UK radio. This era is going to be so good. :o

Officially #1 in the US with 72,000 units 🙌🏼

YES

This has been an absolutely outstanding first week commercially and critically for her. I'm so glad people have realised how good she and this record is.
