Yes -_- At least with Born This Way missing #1 we had the excuse of it being released on a Friday, but if Applause misses #1 with 5 days of sales (3 more than BTW had!) then that is the beginning of the end of GaGa's career :(

But I do agree that people are massively overreacting on here. And the song (to me anyway) just doesn't sound like the SMASH that everyone's implying it is, I don't see it doing as well as BTW

 

Why is everyone being so negative toward the release of Applause? Its chart position and the song itself. I don't get it.

 

Probably because Ellie Goulding is everyone's initial choice of #1 this week but then Gaga came in out of nowhere to steal her thunder. :P

Nah, Kerry Katona OD'd and was dead for 15 minutes. "Whole Again" was resurging, on its way for that million seller - when Kerry revived at the scene. As soon as that news struck the saddened masses people stopped buying it.
