Loving 'Royals' but her pretentious attitude has really put me off her as a person.

Interesting to note she wrote ALL the lyrics for 'Pure Heroine' and co-wrote the music. Amazing.

V IMPRESSED with this on first listen. The singles are obvious highlights but "Ribs" is sensational. The final three tracks or so seemed to descend into filler a little, but we'll see what happens with future listens. Very taken by her as a songwriter and vocalist. A proper talent.

 

Royals being a bit w*** put me off listening to anything else by her, but I've been missing out because Tennis Court is awesome. So Purity Ring. <3

"Tennis Court" is probably my fave too - it was the first single in the UK, maybe she will re-release it next year?

'Glory And Gore' is SO SO GOOD. Must be a single plz. :wub:

 

'400 Lux' kinda sounds like it's ripped the melody from 'She Will Be Loved' from Maroon 5.

 

Surprised to see 'Still Sane' being named as a highlight by so many people in here, definitely the weak link for me. The rest is all great. ~loon goggles~

I love Buzzcut Season even if it is basically a Lana Del Rey soundalike.

Just heard "Team" for the first time. Much better than "Royals" imo...

I ventured through the rest of the album but I didn't really like it. Sounds too much like a budget version of Lana Del Rey for me to like. SOZ

'Buzzcut Season' is by far the best song on the album (and that's high praise indeed). I've listened to it every day for about a month and it only gets better. That, 'Tennis Court' (re-issue), 'Ribs' or 'Glory and Gore' for the next single or I'll invest in Selena Gomez' discography ;)

"Tennis Court" or "Ribs" for single 3!

'Tennis Court' is the third U.S single apparently. Can't find any official confirmation but read it on another forum. It's definitely one of the most commercial-sounding songs on the album so I think it'll do well for her (this time). Hopefully this bodes well for it being released internationally as well. A minor issue I have with it is that I've always found it and 'Team' to sound very similar, i.e: I can imagine her getting the "all her songs sound the same" critique but overall it's a great choice IMO.
