So you're saying she should have kept it quiet because Perez will attack her harder now? I'm sorry Calum but forget that it's Gaga and Perez and replace them with two people in your school or something. How is that ever sound advice for anyone?

I'd rather have publicity whore that stood up to nasty bullies than a normal person that didn't any day.

If Gaga didn't keep biting the bait with Perez then he'd eventually get bored. It's the same with basically all bullies. People know he is a horrible person and that

he has targeted her.

This is the first time she's stood up to him though. She probably thought he might stop attacking her now she's spoken up about it because he didn't show signs of doing so before.

I'm not saying she should keep it quiet at all, but there's alternative ways she could have gone about it. It's so obvious she's just trying to seek attention. It's alright to confide in people if she needs to, but sharing the text with over a million followers of hers on Twitter is not gonna make her come across any better, providing she does have friends or family that she could have told about it instead.

I really think that a lot of people in this thread are misinterpreting her intentions. Maybe she shouldn't have done it. But maybe she thought that was her only option to let her anger about him out without thinking about any other way. That's all there is to this in my opinion.

but she hasn't "bitten the bait" before now, which is why it's got as out of hand as it is. She's seen that he's still attacking her, so she thought she'd pipe up and obviously she's going to remember the most vile thing he's done to her. I think it's good that someone of her stature who is idolised by many, to stand up to the bullies and actually be the role model she is. It's good!
What exactly happened between these 2? Last I heard they were friends, lol.
Callum and Regina you are being ridiculous. Someone bullied someone. That someone then told another someone that it happened. It's pretty clear only one of those someones is in the wrong here.

Several months later. I find that a bit iffy. She could easily have said all this when it happened. Besides, nobody knows happens behind closed doors.

But what Perez did (the wheelchair photo) didn't happen "behind closed doors" :/

I was referring more to the falling out on a whole. Something must have happned in private between them.

If you get bullied then you tell people and show the bully up for what they are, you don't sit on it for months until the bully does it again.

But Gaga can because she is a role model!!!!!!!!!!1

But that's a completely normal thing to do, it's perfectly reasonable to not tell anyone unless it happens again. :manson:

Erm why not?

Because said bully will likely go about doing it to other people. If it happens to you, tell someone. I have no sympathy at all for people who just sit there and think

"maybe he/she wont do it again or do it to anyone" Harsh. Probably, but thats life.

Ha. So it's not the bully's fault they're hurting people, its the fault of all the people who haven't called them out on it before. Sound logic.
It's not uncommon for people to not rush and tell someone they're being bullied at the first moment, at all.

And at the same time it's not uncommon for some people to go and tell someone as soon as they sense they are on the receiving end of bullying. I see Regina's point, although it depends on how much you feel you can confide in an individual to tell them said problem. I've never really had a problem, though, either that or I've learned to deal with it myself, which is what Gaga should have done here instead of running to her Monsters for help, aka declaring the next bitch-fest against Perez.

I never said that people *never* go and tell straight away, I said it's not always the case, and clearly wasn't here. There are all sorts of stories like this, and whilst I understand that this story is a lot more extreme, the Jimmy Saville rape stuff only came out of the woodwork this past year or so, right? People will have sat on that for years and not said a word. I know the Gaga/Perez thing is nothing on that scale but I'm hoping you see my point...
Being raped and keeping it to yourself for 20+ years is completely different from being bullied and keeping it to yourself for a couple of weeks.
