September 11, 201311 yr Author P!nk feat. Nate Ruess - Screech. I KNEW IT!!! I TOLD Y'ALL that BBC/ Capital RAPED the replay button with that, it was always playing!!! Urgh, on the top 100 in just a few months shows how much they hammered it, trying to force it into becoming a hit for some unfathomable reason. I'm sorry I don't understand where all of this is coming from?
September 11, 201311 yr I love that song. Pendulum (not the whole group though) were performing in a club I was in last year, and Watercolour was the last song they played, everybody loved it. If that song was released now, it might have gone #1 since we've had a few drum & bass songs do it recently. I was massively into it when it first came out, then went off it and realised there were far better on the album - but it is good live. I counted myself lucky to see them not long before they broke up. Of course their #1 probably should have been "Propane Nightmares" but their only chance was always going to be the lead single of Immersion.
September 11, 201311 yr Just shows the variety on radio 1 and how they lead where others follow. Surprised RKs most played is Down with the Trumpets and not Mama!!
September 11, 201311 yr I voted a while ago! Voted for Kelly Clarkson 'My Life Would Suck Without You' nonetheless. Genuinely one of my all time favourite songs. Nothing else on that list comes close I don't think! Surprised there aren't more Biffy Clyro songs though :\

September 11, 201311 yr And also how could Avicii's Wake Me Up possibly have racked up the same number of plays already in 2 months than some of those songs that have been being played for 5 years? But complaining aside, it is a pretty good (if not 100% accurate) general representation of the kind of varied music Radio 1 play... it would be interesting to see a similar list for Capital, though I think 50% of that list would be made up of Rihanna, Katy Perry, Calvin Harris & Jessie J songs  I think Capital's most played (since 2010, since that's when I started listening to it) would be We Found Love, Only Girl, Moves Like Jagger or Domino. And I reckon Calvin Harris would be their most-played artist overall. I find it hard to believe this list accurately represents the 100 most played songs on Radio 1 in the last 5 years! Especially surprised that these are on the list: Gramaphonedzie - Why Don't You Marina and the Diamonds - Hollywood Plan B - iLL Manors And FOUR SHM songs? And is Dog Days Are Over REALLY Florence + the Machine's most played song on Radio 1? Agreed about the Rihanna omissions, but also Kings Of Leon - I find it hard to believe either Sex On Fire or Use Somebody wouldn't be in the Top 100! Hollywood I can definitely believe. I heard it so much, and I heard it recently, so I assume it gets good recurrent play on the station. I can believe Dog Days Are Over too. Bearing in mind that song was a very stretched out chart hit lasting for like 2 years, plus it got released twice (and I assume Radio 1 supported it both times?). Plan B for sure was played LOADS on R1 and I'm pretty sure I remember hearing 'Hollywood' a lot at the time. Gramophonedzie maybe slightly harder to believe but they definitely did heavily support it (great song by the way, shame it missed the top 10). And 'Dog Days Are Over' is pretty obviously R1's favourite Florence song IMO. The Kings Of Leon omission is the first thing I've seen in this thread that makes me slightly skeptical though. I was massively into it when it first came out, then went off it and realised there were far better on the album - but it is good live. I counted myself lucky to see them not long before they broke up. I could have seen them at Reading Festival a couple of years ago and decided not to. I regret that decision heavily.

September 12, 201311 yr I don't have an account. Is it worthwhile to make one just to vote in this thing? What else do you use the account for? Sorry I'm quite clueless here :(
September 12, 201311 yr I suppose as well that a lot of songs here will have been played on the genre shows before they broke as well as in the daytime on the playlist.
September 12, 201311 yr There's some DJs which seem to love certain songs aswell. I used to listen to Radio 1 every lunch time at work in 2011, and I swear I used to hear Shake It by Metro Station once every couple of weeks.

Yeah, they love that song at Radio 1, even recently I've heard it every week for about the last 4 weeks.
September 27, 201311 yr Is anyone else listening to this?? I have no clue if these are really being played in any order (most votes, etc.) but who cares when the songs are this good?
September 27, 201311 yr I was listening to it in the morning. Presumably they'll announce the Top 10 or something. Although I'm still nowhere near convinced that these are genuniely the 100 most played songs of the last 5 years!
September 28, 201311 yr I have no damn idea what 'Gramaphonedzie - Why Don't You' is. It peaked at #12 and spent 5 weeks in the top 40 in 2010. It's a 1920s meets 2010s dance tune, similar to We No Speak Americano which was released later that year and smashed. X7SIEDmCwZ4
