End of a daytime TV gameshow era as Richard Osman steps down from Pointless (aside from the Celebrity editions) to focus on writing. He’ll be replaced by a series of guest hosts.

 

I’m not surprised at this given how massive his books have become and I was wondering how he managed to fit it all in alongside House of Games and other projects!

The recent episode of the final was so unfair. One of the questions was USA states and state capitals starting with m a or p, only there was no pointless answers for states. Why include it if there's no pointless answer??

And such a contrast with her face when she saw the subjects to choose from. Just as well she was with her very forgiving dad.

No Pointless tonight, however next week, Pointless will be on BBC2 due to Commonwealth Games.

Pointless was on today but as it was switched to BBC2, the new series with Sally Lindsay as co-host has been delayed and a repeat was shown.

I wonder if one of the early shows in the new series has some sort of royal question.

I thought Sally Lindsay did all right as co-host in the first episode of the new series of Pointless.

 

 

I would guess the reason for not replacing Richard with a permanent co-host and having a rotation in the manner of Have I Got News For You is that in the hope that eventually he will decide he can return to the programme.

I've just caught up with tonight's Pointless - I thought Stephen Mangan did a good job.

Sally Lindsay was OK but Stephen Mangan is far better.
