Finally in the top 40 this week at #35 :cheer: She's performing on The X Factor final also can see this being the massive top 5 hit it deserves to be.

I will say the production for this song is great, I still listen to the song much as I generally hate it just to enjoy the production.

Definitely think it's a lost cause as far as chart success goes now though.

Couldn't disagree more. It's got an X Factor performance next weekend, that will have a big effect IMO and send it into the top 10.

I do not think it will go top 10 post-X Factor, seeing how little effect other promo has done for the song (it literally made no upward movement in the US after the AMAs). I think it will stall at #11 and flounder after that.

Dumb and racist ^__^

I do not know what is wrong with you sometimes. The statement was clearly not anywhere near literal

I'm not really surprised it hasn't taken off ye, it is probably her worst single to date coupled with quite weak promotion. I'm not sure if an X Factor performance will save it but I can see it just scraping the top 10 now.

Not only X factor this week:

She's on Chatty Man on the 20th :cheer:

I can't believe it's doing so badly. :( I think it's a pretty solid song.

She's certainly released worse singles which have done better anyway...

Mind you, I hope the X-Factor final performance can do something to salvage it.

I still think the main reason is the melody. Even though some of her previous songs have had concepts which were equally naff as this one, she usually atleast manages to come up with a killer melody, but the melody for this one is just very run-of-the-mill.

It's not that the song is terrible or unpleasant to listen to as such, it's just it's kind of....there, it doesn't grip you at all and you just have no desire to go back and listen to it again.

I really like the song - its actually a standout track on the album. Not sure what else will do well apart from walking on air. I think she might struggle this era.
Dark Horse is a smash waiting to happen IMO, they've already sent it to radio in America I heard :drama:

It's officially been sent to Rhythmic radio this week and is also getting a lot of spins on Pop too. Will most definitely be a multi-format smash eventually. Already higher on iTunes than 'Unconditionally' ever managed too

The US not taking to 'Unconditionally' as much as i thought is one of the shocks of the year for me :(

Oh well, it happens! She's had a great run of smashes in America but I don't think it means she's losing popularity - people just clearly don't care about this song and I look forward to seeing how Dark Horse does.

I still love this song, stand by it being one of the strongest on the album and being a very good single regardless of it's performance.

Yeah, I would be shocked if 'Dark Horse' wasn't a smash, it's impossible for a song to sell so much before even being confirmed as a single, yet not go on to become huge when it does eventually get released.

I think 'Birthday' as a 4th single in late spring/early summer would really work, but after that I do struggle to see any other good single choices.

Walking On Air will have to be a single at some point. PLEASE.

I can imagine that would smash if it were a single as well. Would probably be best released around summer though.

Has this officially been "scrapped"/a major flop in the USofA? 'Dark Horse' is #13 on iTunes there! :o

Katy performed this with the finalists of The Voice Of Germany

It seems so, as the US airplay updates indicate the radio stations in the US are dropping "Unconditionally" rapidly with Dark Horse rapidly picking up.
