Well 'indie' means 'independent label' but it seems to have evolved to just be a term used to describe something in between pop and rock. Rock and indie quite interchangable these days.

I've just realised if OneRepublic and The Vamps are top 2 this week, it'll be the first all-guitar led top 2 since I don't know. Gonna go and shoot myself now...

11/10/2008 had a fairly guitar-heavy top 3, Oasis's 'The Shock of the Lightning' at #3, 'Sex on Fire' at #2 and, erm, Pink's 'So What' at #1 if you count that :P But I'd put Pink into pop territory.

Otherwise 28/10/2006 is the most recent definite rock top 2 I can think of, My Chemical Romance's 'Welcome to the Black Parade' at #1 and Razorlight's 'America' at #2.

I'd count Pink as pop-rock or at least most of her songs are guitar-driven. Anyway I predict that some time next year we'll get a proper rock song (something like Sex On Fire) at #1!

Youve started a whole new discourse there saying The Vamps are rock  . Yeah indie acts imo include Lana Del Rey, Florence & the Machine, Gotye & Haim, whereas rock acts are Kings of Leon, Kasabian Oasis etc

Nobody's sating the Vamps are rock. just that the song is guitar-led. I wouldn't put anything I've heard from Lana Del Rey anywhere near indie by the way.

This is the problem with music genres, no one can ever agree on them, so let's not even bother trying to justify what genres we think particular songs belong in!

 12. Lucy Spraggan - Last Night (Beer Fear)

Wow, never expected her to do that well with this!

No.44 Sub Focus - Turn It Around (feat. Kele)

I hope it will have a second week in Top 40 on Sunday!!! Kele's vocals and Sub focus music are amazing!!!

No.119 Rihanna - Pour It Up

Her new videoclip is much more porno than a music video..I used to appreciate her in the past..But it seems that i will change my mind very soon if she reacts like a cheap artist..

79. Eminem - Berzerk

80. Conor Maynard - R U Crazy

215. The Saturdays - Disco Love

222. John Newman - Cheating

184. Hitsmith - Bonfire Heart [Tribute To James Blunt]

James Blunt could go top 10 as his EP is also #38 on the album chart.

Great to see The Saturdays still climbing. 'Disco Love' really needs to smash :(

Seriously, I don't get what all the fuss is with the Pour It Up video. Yeah it's pretty provocative but people have been making provocative music videos for years! It's hardly porn, it's not like she gets her bits out in it... or is there a more explicit version I haven't seen?

It would have smashed if released a different week... but there's gonna be four new entries above it, so low Top 10 is the best they can even hope for.

If even that. Will some of the current top 10 shift to make way for it?

Rihanna is a big artist..One of the most successful artists ever..It doesn't need to show her boobs with every video..She looks like a desperate woman for having success... Last but not least, she has a lot of videos with this style and it starts to be very boring to her career..(Te Amo, S/m..)

I'd say Disco Love is a pretty certain top 10 right now? Sales at the lower end aren't that high anyway...

I thought the laugh icon after the comment made clear i was trying to be light hearted in what i was saying!

What promo has she got shes just kept rising throughout the week? Is anyone playing the song? I know she had a Daily Mirror interview today!

Yeah I reckon so, like Joseph said ^^ sales are pretty low at the moment so I think low Top 10 is pretty realistic. I'd be annoyed if it charted lower than Gentleman cos it's SO much better!
