So the XF live shows are in a few weeks & they usually throw up a few surprises in the chart before Xmas. From last years performance of Beneath your Beautiful firing it up the chart smashing to no1 to Robbie Williams getting one of his biggest first week sales in years or Paradise finally getting to the top spot. What would you like to see this year & how will it effect the chart?

I believe James Arthur's performance inevitably on Sunday 20/10 will propel his long awaited first single proper to one of the years biggest first week sales because it's a decent song, he's a genuinely popular winner @ the singles been held back for a long time!

Cher will clearly rocket to #1 with Woman's World :kink: TELL A TRUTH
he's a genuinely popular winner

but you just simply CAN'T assume that!!!!!!1!

I'm hoping Katy will perform 'Unconditionally' this year. No doubt it won't need any help getting to #1, but yeah. :kink:

I assume Ellie Goulding is going to perform ' Burn ' and Cher is going to perform ' I Hope You Find It '.

I think ' Burn ' might manage to go top 10 again but I doubt Cher will manage to trouble the top 40.

Burn is relatively old now, is Ellie planning to release another single of the deluxe version of Halcyon? If so, she might perform that. Although if not, I'd be more than happy for Burn to get another few sales off an X Factor boost :D

Ellie Goulding's label would be foolish to milk an already #1 single - surely the follow-up to a big hit needs to do well?

Leona Lewis' Christmas album should ensure she gets a spot. Assuming they're still going ahead with it.

Gary Barlow will perform Let Me Go on Nov 17th, the single's release date, which should boost it quite a bit, I imagine.

Im not assuming it his winners single was one of the biggest winners singles & instead of free falling down the chart in January was in the top 40 for 15 weeks & sold alot which for me shows his genuine popularity as an artist!

Are these def performers? Anyone got a list of weekly performances?

Cher and Ellie Goulding are confirmed for the first week, don't think the rest have been announced yet, they usually get announced the weekend before don't they?

It showed popularity for the song. One cover single doesn't demonstrate popularity as "an artist". Matt Cardle's single was also a million seller, and the exact same thing could have been said in the lead up to 'Run For Your Life'. He was incredibly hyped, but he didn't end up meeting expectations. I just don't think people should base how well James might do on how his winner's single did. It's no guarantee.

Anyway, Calum was just being idiotic in his reply to you, in light of a conversation in the pop forum. He actually agrees with you.

But Matts winners song did fall down the chart relatively quickly after the xmas season. James' stayed in the chart until March. I think it was the way he sang it & the song itself becasuse it was a top 10 hit before that!

Ohh good im sure Ellie will perform a new song because theres a video isnt there for a new one of the deluxe album?!

Exactly - I don't think it's to do with the fact it's Shontelle's 'Impossible' at all, it's about James and the way he sung the song. The production was a lot better than any previous X Factor winner's single, and was deservedly [one of] the biggest.

Anyway it will be an interesting chart week id say he could break 200k!!

Yes, and with good reason.

Was there really any need to reply to Steve like that, carrying on something from a topic that he most likely hadn't even read? That was unfair on him. You were clearly intending to provoke/mock others, so don't drag others into it by creating confusion.

Your attitude has become awful lately. I'm not sure who you're trying to impress. You're already on thin ice in this forum section, and your behaviour has been punished in another section too. It's very disappointing. <_<

Edit: Calum & I have since discussed the situation, and have ironed things out. Sorry to have been so public about things in this thread! ^_^

Top 40 for 13 weeks. not 15. I don't see how number of weeks on chart for one song shows genuine popularty for an artist, Psy spent a lot longer than that with "Gangnam Style" but is he that popular as an artist, or was that basically a one-off?

Does anyone think the frequent 'faux pas' by James Arthur on twitter and reported in the press throughout the year will affect his popularity and his sales?

I like his music but he does come across as a rather obnoxious person.

They are. She's in the UK finalising the album now and she is 99.9% certain to get a slot (I think it's already been confirmed somewhere).

Also, there's apparantley something special happening to celebrate the 10th series, with past winners included or something? Can't remember where I saw that though. Perhaps a charity single involving all the past acts that were successful?

Oh god, that sounds awful!
