No Katy Perry - Walking On Air?

No - we can only assume it's been declared ineligible. See the chart show thread for some discussion on this.

Hmm, strange. I wasn't even aware it had broken any rules. I was under the impression it was a straight forward release, much like Dark Horse?

People who pre-ordered the album got it for "free". So I guess that's may be why?

People who pre-ordered the album got it for "free". So I guess that's may be why?

That rule hasn't been in place for months. I still think Thermo was probably right that they've just decided to only allow one pre-order album track per album to chart.

Nice to see Agnes Obel in the top 75, didn't even realise she was known here! On the other hand Nelly misses the top 75 altogether! It's a pretty decent album too. Yay for Haim, Justin's new album is a major step down from the last one, filler central melodically despite some very nice production.

Weird that the new Katy Perry promo single didn't chart when the last one did! Shame Sia just missed out on the top 75, I doubt it will make it in now...

Sub Focus didn't seem like the type of act to have a single dive from #14 out of the top 40, bizarre, it's like a fanbase act but I'm sure they can't have one

Nice debut for Lucy Spraggan, weird for an X Factor act to release a single that outperforms the first but I guess Last Night has history.

Good to see Avicii still hanging around high with You Make Me, Demi scoring a second top ten hit and Skyscraper becoming the hit it seemed destined to be and of course YAY for a #1 for OneRepublic, wouldn't have seen that happening at all! Always good to see songs climbing to #1 having grown steadily in popularity, and it's always nice to see an act return to prominence after years in the chart wilderness :D Ryan Tedder is a fantastic songwriter.

Ugh. I knew it'd happen! So gutting that Justin couldn't quite get to number 1 with this album, but hopefully the X Factor slot (he's bound to be on it, right?) will push it up to the top. Although I guess the "complete collection" may have prevented people from buying just the 2nd version...

Dear God that goddamn Iris is on chart again GOD HELP US

Hmm... I didn't notice this straight away but the OCC have credited the sales of Sam Smith's 'Nirvana' EP to 'Safe With Me' (the first track on the EP), despite the fact the EP has a title track and that track is in fact the one being promoted, on Radio 1 at least  I guess I was wrong with my interpretation of how they treat EPs and they do now just put the sales onto the first track. But they didn't do that for Ben Howard's 'Burgh Island'.

In other news now they have 2 albums with an 'And' and only one with an '&' I'm gonna go laboriously change 'Chase & Status' to 'Chase And Status' on all my spreadsheets. Joy. This change will be reflected in these threads from now on.

On a similar note also changing 'JME' to 'Jme' on my spreadsheets as most of his releases don't capitalise his name on their artwork and neither do his Twitter and Facebook. He hasn't made a huge impression on the chart though so not as time consuming changing that :P

Urgh, why do they have to change their styling, anywhoo i usually use iTunes and/or Official Charts for my Reshuffle credits, and they both still say "&"

Useless fact: HAIM getting a #1 album means the decade has now had #1s by acts beginning with every letter of the alphabet except for Q, U, Y and Z (counting The Vaccines and The xx as 'V' and 'X' acts respectively).

Yes I am bored, why do you ask?

I guess U2 could have a number one album to chalk off "U", I can't think of any obvious potential candidates for Q, Y & Z at this time of night. (Yvlis getting a number one album would just be too odd for words)

Queens Of The Stone Age were close for 'Q' :P

QOTSA and Usher have both had #2 albums this decade, You Me At Six had a #3 (presumably #1 contenders with their next album) but the highest 'Z' was ZZ Top's 'La Futura' at just #29.

Queens of the Stone Age came fairly close. Dunno if Queen could ever manage it again.

I guess if Zedd had a couple more hit singles he could get an album higher than 27, but a Number One seems extremely unlikely

Zayn Malik's solo album, especially if he records as Zayn only. :P

Yeah, U2, Queen and You Me At Six would be the obvious contenders for those three letters (I guess Queen could release some kind of anniversary compilation or something at some point). Where did the last Yeah Yeah Yeahs album chart, could they get a #1 later this decade? Can't think of anything for Z though.

Any chance at all of the Union J album going to Number 1?

Bra, where are your statistics again..?? Don't forget them. I'm a follower..:)
