'One Thing' is the type of song I forget how good it actually is until I go back and listen to it. Not exactly among their best for me (and 'Little Things' would be above it - namely for the video :kink: (although it is one of their best videos, tbf)). 'Gotta Be You' shits on them all, though #unpopular

'Gotta Be You' >>>>> 'Story of My Life' >>> 'Little Things' (sorry 'Little Things' :()

Unsurprisingly, this is absolute shite. PLEASE let Eminem stop this from being #1 :puke:

'Little Things' is still their only song I would ever voluntarily listen to. 'One Thing' and 'Kiss You' are both listenable and everything else they've put out is varying shades of horrific. This is already one of the more horrific ones after one listen. Varies from being terminally dull in the verses to ear-rapingly terrible in the chorus.

Is it just me or do the lyrics of this song make absolutely no sense? What does the 'story of their life' have to do with ANY of the rest of the chorus?

A truer post has never been written. Completely spot on Bre.

They drive girls home to keep them warm and spend their love until they're broke <3

If that is not great quality then I don't know what is perfect in your eyes :D

Nice concept of the video, but it has nothing to do with the song. This is a love song and the promo was made like it is about their life and childhood - bit weird to have that kind of promo and the video with this song. If this was a personal song or about life, it would all make sense, but this doesn't.

But the one thing I noticed about the video, they almost completely ignored Louis in the video, he has very little screen time, I guess he isn't the popular one.

I have to agree with Bree though, the lyrics are confusing at times, it is all very jumbled.

I would give the video a 7/10. Cool concept and effects and it relates to the song title, but like others said it has nothing to do with the actual meaning of the song. I understand that they are trying to come off as more mature but throwing facial hair on Liam and making songs like this doesn't make them more mature. Feels a bit forced. I prefer crazy and fun pop-rock One Direction.
I understand why this was done. I don't even have to look at comments, I'm sure most are "OMG Harry is SO PERFECT gazing up at his mom and Zayn is SO SWEET hugging his sister" - but the concept doesn't make any sense and the whole promo is very misleading, people behind it are trying to make bigger deal out of this which is nothing more than decent love song. They are singing about failed relationships, not their family, or should I say stories of their lives :D

It's a good video. I like it, especially the photo transformations. Louis' was especially emotional!

That's a great video actually, still not mad keen on the song though. It's kinda dull but at least it's better then that horrid Little Things.

After a first quick listen of the song when it first premiered I wasn't a fan at all, but watching the video suddenly made me realise what a fantastic song this is! It is now my favourite single of theirs by far, I love the more mature sound and the Mumford & Sons-style folk influence. I actually hope this song re-peaks now as it doesn't deserve to be one of their lowest charting singles!

10 weeks top 10 for this then, I'm so pleased as I would say it's on a par with 'Kiss You' now as my favourite single.
