And how many James Arthur songs would an average person be able to name?

Two, which is one more than Robin Thicke :P but my point was really that being the most recent X Factor winner, James is more of a household name (at least at this moment in time) than Robin.

Let's not forget record companies pay huge sums to get their artists on the show - Better for Syco to slot their acts in where they can rather than lose out on £££! The Wanted are flying back to the UK for a 24 hour visit to perform!

That is true The Wanted apparently payed £250,000 just to get a spot: http://www.tvballa.com/2013/10/gary-barlow...pay-sing-250000

Isn't this claim that the Wanted spent £250k (ie, the cost of the helicopter hire) rather than paying it to Freemantle. Isn't the story also quite likely to be made up PR nonsense?

Nile Rodgers and Chic will perform a medley of their hits on The X Factor next month.

They will appear on a special edition of the ITV series on Saturday, November 2 to perform three songs.

Rodgers will play his 1959 Fender Stratocaster, known as 'The Hit Maker', which has featured on tracks by Madonna, David Bowie and Diana Ross.

Interesting choice of guest if that's true! I guess the theme that week will be disco or something.

But wouldnt that be too similar to 80's week?

Yeah possibly although disco is more 70s than 80s.

What I didnt understand why did both guests Robin Thicke & Katy Perry on Sunday perform old songs, that have already peaked and fallen down the chart? Why not promote a new song? seemed odd to me

So Venus isn't the second single anymore and DO What U Want is officially the single.... will she still perform Venus next week then?

I guess we'll find out on Sunday. I'd be over the moon if she did!

Yeah its absolutely stupid. More people would buy the album with another song they liked. Alot of new albumks do well with the whole promo single in the weeks up to the album release. Maybe they have told them to perform songs the audience are familar with?

now this would be fantastic. I do like those late 70's disco groups.

Le Freak ftw

Disco is definitely more associated with 70s - ABBA, Donna Summer, Bee Gees etc. Hopefully there will be some more original choices for the contestants too. Mind you, what's the chances that 'Get Lucky' is performed? :P
Surely they wouldn't have a 'Get Lucky' performance again, seen as there was a group performance of it a couple of weeks ago?

I would certainly not put it past them! :P

Taylor Swift and Little Mix confirmed for Week 4 results.

:cheer: I wonder if Gary Lightbody will be singing with Taylor or not, hopefully!

The source is ITV Press Centre by the way.

No surprises there then!

YAY for Little Mix

I wonder if Taylor will be performing 'Sweeter Than Fiction' as opposed to 'The Last Time'?
