FULLY SECOND Bre's comment. "Retrograde" for #1.

Hopefully we get another update tomorrow in some form, I should think OneD would still be #1 tomorrow though, and it could change on Fridays update

Oh yes, I fully expect One Direction will remain #1 in the mids until Friday - only for their hopes to be dashed at the last minute. :D

James Blake has a good song out now with Chance the Rapper.

I downloaded that the other day as it happens! Heard it a couple of weeks ago but didn't know it was being released. It's just a new version of a track on 'Overgrown'. James Blake's sound works surprisingly well with rappers on it (he has a great song featuring RZA from Wu-Tang Clan on his album as well, you should check that out if you haven't already).

Probably an unpopular opinion but 'Take A Fall For Me' with RZA is actually my favourite off the album. So chilling and just stands out from the midst of it all.

Very happy with his win

What did he win? :o

I don't know if it's actually being released as a single, but I heard it on Rinse FM a few times. I really love the song.

Its a better outcome than Speech De Belle, she eventually found her way on Celebrity Masterchef
I would love for Rihanna to have another #1 single to her discography. She hasn't had one yet this year and 'The Monster' is very good. Will also be nice to see Eminem get another after 'LTWYL' should have got there.

Not in the UK its not.

Rihanna has sold above 25M records in the UK. Eminem is nowhere near

That is what I was trying to home in on more. The UK LOVES Rihanna she is at that status now where whenever she releases anything you know it is going straight to the top! The UK has to be her biggest market. IIRC isnt she almost tied for single sales or number 1s as Madonna?

Well when Rihanna can't even go top 40 with three post album singles... I know they're not exactly expected to go to #1 as they're post album but you think they'd do better. Talk That Talk didn't get a video and still went top 40.

Not going to disagree but the Unapologetic campaign has been very shoddy. I was looking forward to a Right Now MV but that never happened and I doubt we will ever get one for 'What Now' either.

 388. Retrograde - James Blake

IT BEGINS.

All looning aside, it would be great to see him get another T40 hit, his last was back in 2011; "Limit To Your Love" spent a solitary week at #39.

I really hope we get one for 'What Now', it deserves it - especially when she's willing to put in the effort and give one to one of the weakest songs on the album.

I think top 40 is pretty wildly optimistic to be honest. I would be more than happy if it re-entered the top 200 again (it was back there as recently as two weeks ago actually, apparently after it was used on a TV show of some description - came with a sneaky overall total of 28,452 sales up to that point which is fairly decent for a #87 hit I guess?)

If there was any justice James Blake would be a much bigger force in the chart but really he doesn't exactly make super commercial music so it's quite impressive he even has a top 40 hit to his name (and two top 10 albums).

What have the sales of post-album singles got to do with the fanbase of an act when said fanbase will have bought the album said singles are from? If anything Unapologetic selling so well despite only having two hits is a testament to her fanbase size. #clapback

Ah you're probaly right Bré, it would need to do a lot, particularly this late in the week. Oh and his collaboration with Chance the Rapper is really good. "Life Round Here" was always one of my favourites so I am pleased it has got the single treatment.

I was replying more to UnionJGeek's post, where "The UK LOVES Rihanna she is at that status now where whenever she releases anything you know it is going straight to the top!" was said, so I provided examples of where that wasn't the case.
