Britney's "Work Bitch" video is now the most played video of the last 7 days in the UK, up to #1 on the rolling TV airplay chart.

Again, I'm really hoping to see how well this bodes for next week. At least, she'll have a competitive battle with Storm Queen, who has both heavy radio and TV exposure! And Little Mix, of course!

Next week will indeed be interesting. Storm Queen's been doing well on pre-orders for the past few months, but depends on how Eminem and Rhi Rhi hold up against it. Britney and Little Mix should get Top 10 and I'm hoping The Killers manage at least Top 40 with Shot At The Night.

Why don't Gaga's record company declare Do What U Want as the eligible track, and render Applause as chart ineligible? No ones going to miss Applause.

It would be nice, I doubt it matters to them if the track charts. As long as it's selling well and they're still getting the income from the downloads and the album sells well I expect everyone's happy apart from the chart geeks.

Because 'Applause' was the first instant grat to be released from ARTPOP, so that is the one which is chart eligible. The record company can't just pick and choose which song to make chart eligible from week to week - the rules are clear, it's either the first one to be released, or if more than one are released at the same time like in Eminem's case, then they nominate a song to be eligible.

That Storm Queen song is beyond horrific, like many similar dance songs this year have been :( Really hope Britney and Little Mix somehow manage to both chart higher than it.
Britney's pre-order is doing very very well!! I think it could've been a #1 if it was playlisted on Capital and/or Radio 1.

Top 100 :cheer: Now for it to climb 98 places :kink:

 219. Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You

 458. The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York

Good to see Britney's pre orders in the top 100. hopefully it climbs some more before the release.

This is simply not true. The song is not mainstream at all, it's very cheesy and is aimed at a small fan base. She will be lucky for two weeks top ten.

Thought it had already been released and flopped anyway :S .

Britney's relevance has started to fade even in the States, but it went a long time ago here.

Maybe if it was credited as 'Sebastian Ingrosso, Otto Knows & will.i.am "Work Bitch (feat. Britney Spears)' it would be challenging for #1 as surely R1 wouldn't miss an opportunity to playlist a song by any of those 3 who produced 'Work Bitch'. What a shame that they're ignoring it :(

Please give it a rest. Turn your internet off for the next 52 weeks.

The only thing less surprising than Michael being an idiot is people getting precious about Britney. If it does well then fair play but it's a terrible song.

I do hope that either Capital or Radio 1 playlist it next week once they realise it is in the iTunes top 10 (which is nearly guaranteed due to the strong pre-orders), as long as it doesn't fall too fast I think there is a chance with Capital at least who tend to playlist quite a few songs on release week that they probably didn't expect in the top 10 such as 'Afterglow', 'Boom Boom (Heartbeat)', 'Count On Me' and 'Lost & Not Found'. Obviously Britney is a different type of artist to these examples, but you never know!

I think it is very mainstream with the Swedish House Mafia inspired production and isn't cheesy at all. I do agree that she will do very well to manage 2 weeks top 10 but my point was that if she had radio airplay, #1 (and/or a longer run in the top 10) would have been possible.

You can't base these things on one song. Just one album ago, Britney achieved 3 US top 10 hits - something she hadn't achieved from a single album before. Britney is still currently one of the most successful popstars in the world.

In your dreams!!

As long as it goes anywhere top 40 I'll be very happy it deserves a top 10 placing but I'm not getting carried away!
