Haven't seen a thread for this, if there is one, sorry. Trailer came out a few days ago and this film looks amazing.

Falcon

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

The first film is one of the best Marvel movies IMO and this looks like it will be even better. Chris Evans was a fab choice for Cap.

Looks brilliant! 2014 is getting back on track after quite an underwhelming year for films on the whole. The first one is indeed one of my favourite standalone Avengers films and prefer it far more to the anti climatic first 'Thor' film.

I really didn't enjoy the first one. It had some decent ideas, but it wasn't good enough. The Winter Soldier is pretty much my favourite Captain America story, and the writer of that (Ed Brubaker) said he was happy with the script for the movie. So I'm pretty excited about this. That bit where Winter Soldier catches the shield made me nerd-cheer.

So saw the new 300 film in Imax today. As seems to be accustomary with Imax films, they played a 10 (or so) minute preview of an upcoming film; this time it was this film's turn!

Seems it's gonna be a pretty decent movie with a lot of action (hardly unexpected); looking to be better than Iron Man 3, at least!

My 2nd favourite Marvel film (that isn't 'Avengers') already! (Behind the first 'Iron Man'). The original 'Captain America' was 2nd, but this one just blows it out the water tbh. Brilliant film and it has everything you could want in a modern day superhero film. Has got me so much more excited for 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron'.

The Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch previews at the end looked brilliant!

Really enjoyed it! Just the right amount of action, imo!

I HATED the first one, it's easily my least favourite Marvel film (only challenged by Iron Man one, ha) but this one looks fantastic! Going to see it tonight.

(because nobody asked)

01 The Avengers

02 Thor 2

03 Thor

yeah, that's all I can do right now, but all 3 are 9/10+. The rest I don't really ever need to see again,

'Thor' was rubbish and is so overrated :( 'Thor 2' however, can stay! The 'Iron Man' sequels are "OK" but nothing to write home about.

This is one of the best marvel movies I've seen, and it picks up where Avengers Assemble ended pretty well, there are a few nods to the next Avengers movie. I do wonder if Falcon will get his own movie out of this. Captain America 3 is planned for 6 May 2016 same airdate as Superman Vs Batman movie.

If I had to rate the marvel movies so far

Avengers Assemble

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Thor 1

Thor 2

Captain America: The First Avenger

Iron Man 1

Iron Man 3

Iron Man 2

And I don't know how true it is, Dominic Cooper is in talks to take the helm for Iron Man 4 and beyond, I read it on imdb a while back..

Outside the Avengers, one of the better of the spinoffs, though I preferred the last Iron Man and Thor movies. This is much more in the plotline of Avengers though, a trifle overlong and if I see one more human being leaping through sturdy glass windows with nary a blemish (never mind being not actually cut to ribbons) I'll scream loudly at the awful cliche of it all, movie after movie as if it's something we should all actually have a go at.

Whinge apart, Scarlet is great, the rest of the cast good and it's much better than the first film.

WOW

Now, as you guys know, I am prone to the odd bout of hyperbole but HOLY SHITTING CHRIST what a film. The whole collapse of SHIELD was perhaps the most interesting thing for me (and I did bemoan that it basically makes the TV show obsolete, yet someone I doubt they will even mention it) but Captain America's characterisation has come on so much since the first film, he feels like an actual fully fleshed character now. Like before I never got why he was this amazing hero when he was just a muscly jackass, but now he is still a muscly jackass, but one with charisma and tact to boot.

Also, SO MUCH HUMOUR. Easily the funniest Marvel movie to date, LOVE LOVE LOVED the Jenny Agutter fight scene (even if it wasn't her), actually cried with laughter at that. Also all the snide little remarks here and there really lifted the film too.

I can't give it a 10 as it wasn't PERFECT (for one that the VA guy had straighteners for her hair was a silly slip and also Nick's death was so obviously faked and also WE GET IT - HELICARRIERS DO NOT END WELL), but it would get a 9.75 or so, which puts it pretty much ATOP my Marvel film ranking now. That good.

Apparently this season of 'SHIELD' is supposed to coincide with this film! So I can see them mentioning it in the finale (8 weeks to go, from last night) due to not wanting to spoil the film TOO soon for people who may not have had a chance to see the movie just yet. (This is all just hearsay for me though, not sure if it's legit!)

Oh yeah, I knew they were roughly concurrent, which is why it annoyed me that they probably won't mention it for ages. If they don't it will piss me off no end, it's absolutely essential to the entire premise of the show.

EDIT: I say that, but having had a good old google apparently the next episode IS a tie in and is called 'End of the Beginning'. Yeah.

I watched this movie yesterday!!! I really enjoyed it. I didn't expect it to be so good!!! "The First Avenger" was fascinating and I felt that the second movie would not be as good. However, I was so wrong. It has many action scenes and the visual/sound effects were very impressive. I think that Chris Evans was the best choice for this role. I also liked Scrarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff. She was involved in many fight scenes. "The Winter Soldier" seemed that he was one of the most powerful villains. He was so iconic too (especially with the mask). Brothers Russo (directors) did an amazing job! The script was very decent for an adventure movie. It was very interesting and you can't be sure about anything..I believe that it deserved to have this budget ($170.000.000) because the result was great!!! Surely, it's one of my favourite superhero films!!!

I really need to see this. :( I adored the first one and the Winter Soldier is a fab character in the comics.

Hoping that following the third Cap or Avengers movie we get BuckyCap since Chris Evan's contract runs out and there are rumours he will be killed off

(Death of Captain America is an AMAZE comic arc and it needs to be made into a film). I also wanna see Sebastian Stan in the Cap suit.

According to imdb, the third movie will involve 2 nemesis, Crossbones and the Red Skull daughter Sin. With Falcon and Bucky returning.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" passed "The LEGO Movie" to become the highest-grossing movie at the domestic box office in 2014!!!

Captain America : The Winter Soldier = $255,863,996

The Lego Movie = $255,855,932

Captain America was very good but I think that X-Men deserved the first place. However, the result was great and "Winter Soldier" was one of the best villains.

All thanks to Sebastian Stan of course.
