Maybe not the top 3 - but I remember back in 1990 UB40 and Robert Palmer were in the top 10 with 'I'll be your baby tonight' while Whitney Houston was also there with 'I'm your baby tonight'.
Again not in the Top 2/3 but in 1999, The Moffats and Lucid both released songs called 'Crazy' a week apart. One made #16 and one made #14. I'm sure there are other examples though.

Again, not in the very top of the chart, but

w/e 25/8/79 Abba were at 9 with a Double A-Side "Angeleyes"/"Voulez-Vous" with Roxy Music at 12 with "Angel Eyes"

Cheryl Cole and Take That both had songs called "The Flood" in the Top 40 at one point.
On the charts dated 28/09/85, 05/10/85 and 12/10/85 there were two songs called 'The Power Of Love' in the top 20 - one by Huey Lewis & The News (chart run for those 3 weeks: 12-11-15) and the other by Jennifer Rush (15-2-1). A few weeks earlier, on 31/08/85 the Jennifer Rush song was at number 47 with the Huey Lewis song a new entry at number 49.
On 08/12/90 two songs called Crazy entered the top 75 - one at number 45 by Seal and the other at 66 by Patsy Cline. On 12/01/91 both songs were in the top 20, Seal at number 4 and Patsy Cline at 14. The next two weeks both songs remained in the top 20 at the same time.

Not exactly relevant to this thread but Katie Melua also had a song out earlier that year called 'The Flood', I love how no other songs with that title had ever charted before and then three charted in the same year!

It flooded the charts :o

It flooded the charts :o

Yeah I was gonna make a joke along those lines but thought better of it

One week in 2011 there were 2 different songs called 'Just Can't Get Enough' at #29 and #30 (The Black Eyed Peas and The Good Child Foundation (the latter being a Depeche Mode cover) respectively).

Closest to 2 in the top 3 I can think of is when Iyaz 'Solo' was #3 and Jason Derulo 'Ridin' Solo' was #4 (which is neither the same title nor both in the top 3, but I TRIED)

Did the Glee Cast's two different songs called "Smile" appear in the lower reaches of the chart at the same time?
The Christmas 2008 chart had 'Hallelujah' at both #1 and #2 - although obviously it was two versions of the same song, but that's the closest I could get!
Another "not really, but almost" answer. Tulisa was #1 with "Young" while fun. were at #3 with "We Are Young". "Young" was originally intended to be called "We Are Young" but it was changed because of the aforementioned fun. song.

But none of those were in the charts at anywhere near the same time as each other

'What Do You Want' and 'What Do You Want To Make Those Eyes At Me For' were jointly Number One for a week in 1959. Obviously they had several weeks at separate T3 positions either side of that too.

Both those songs also spelled out "S-O-L-O" as part of their lyrics iirc, which I found quite amusing.

IIRC Hold On by Wilson Philips and En Vogue were in the charts at the same time..
Not quite the same, but both 'New York' by Paloma Faith and 'Empire State Of Mind' by Jay Z were in the chart at the same time at one. Both songs have New York in their chorus!
