In regards to the album thing:

 

Kelly Clarkson has FIVE original songs on her album and Leona Lewis has THREE original songs. Will that be more or less incentive for people to buy?

I like both songs a LOT and both artists are in my top 5 ever. But for me personally, Kelly Clarkson has this. Such a brilliant album and every original track she has (in particular the single above!) is brilliant! Leona's song is pretty great too though, and I imagine she'll win this "battle". She'll probably get the X Factor slot whilst Kelly, won't.

Kelly's single will do better, Leona's album will do better and I prefer Kelly. I can see them BOTH getting X Factor slots (lest we forget Kelly was on last year and Leona was conspicuously absent) but the difference will come down to Leona being a more established act here, at least recently and thus her album being an easier/lazier/more obvious present over Kelly's.

I hope you're right! I can see them both getting a slot (at some point) too, but for some reason I don't think it'll happen :(. Syco will definitely be trying to get that market all to themselves for Leona (and maybe SuBo). If they both get a slot, sorry Leona I hope Kelly "does a BEP" and steals it *.*

I think Leona on all three accounts! XF and the fact she has a bigger UK profile then Kelly will help her a lot here!

I prefer Kelly Clarkson's track to be honest though, its sounds more christmassy, but both are equally good. I love original Christmas tracks and I would prefer one of these as the Xmas 1 over the X Factor winner any day.

I'd be inclined to say neither of them will do very well but Leona will do better. I haven't heard either though, that's just a GUT FEELING and probably completely wrong.

She did, but I think John was referring to Kelly's performance of 'Breakaway' in the final, whereas Leona usually also returns for the final with performances such as 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' and 'Hurt'.

To be fair, Leona had nothing to promote during the final last year with the flop that was "Lovebird" dying way before and they just gave up on the era after that happened. :unsure:

Yeah I definitely think she'll be on this year, I think she even confirmed it at some point but I can't remember when.

I think Kelly will win on the single's front, regardless of X Factor. However, I think Leona should have the albums market sown up. Her single is more adult contemporary to my mind and she herself attracts a more adult audience, so that should stand to her.

I don't think either singles will get any radio airplay and with XF performances maybe go top 40 but that's all. Nice to see pop stars doing new Xmas songs instead of indie bands like the Wombats & Coldplay lol!!

Leona on all accounts; I just think her tone is more suited to Xmas music where as although Kelly is probably more passionate about it, her voice comes across as artificial.
