Don't even understand why racism has been brought into it personally.

This is exactly what I thought. Nothing even seemed slightly 'racist' about the video when I first watched it and it still doesn't now.

Good grief.. racism?! I know it's a cliche but it really is hard out here for a bitch!
I love Lily but this is really not that great a single or video. She already covered this sort of territory with 'The Fear' and indeed a lot of her last album with the whole 'anti-hypersexualisation' of society and it just sounds a bit like a parody/caricature of herself.
the message has been done to death tbh but if you REALLY don't look too much into it its just good. i'd love the video even if it wasn't ironic if i'm honest.

I think people just look for an issue when there really isnt one! It is just a strong pop song, the whole package has been done really well. The kind of publicity will only help her though, in the same way it has helped Miley and Robin ironically.

The message may have been done to death, but it is still relevant. If anything we needed something like this after the buffoonery the past 6 months.
It's hardly a song to be taken that seriously... It's quite clearly a parody sort of thing, I think the autotune might be a symbol of that (although really I guess that her voice is hardly Whitney much as I love her), but either way it's a brilliant pop song and should be applauded for that. The video is hilarious too, so well executed even with a quite clichéd message.
Cannot get enough of this. Incredible on so many levels.
I've now played this over 100 times and it's not even out yet

I had downloaded this before the plane had even reached the gate. Was the only thing I was looking forward to doing upon getting back to the uk.
This song has one of the most funny lyrics that i've ever heard..Lily is amazing!!! And controversial too.. :)

I can't believe it's been almost a year since this was released. It's one of her best songs and sadly or not, nothing on Sheezus managed to top it. It generated so much buzz that I expected it to hit #1 (or top 3 at least), but people chose to keep buying Somewhere Only We Know, instead. :( But, anyway, happy anniversary HOH

Here's Lily doing a stripped back version on Jonathan Ross, last week. It's BRILLIANT.

This came on last night when I was out and I danced to it.

This is definitely one of her best moments, shame it didn't do better. I did expect it to simply because everyone around me was talking about it and the video.

So today is one year ago then since I first heard this. I called it one of the worst ever songs I have heard and the video was horrible and disgusting and this was a disaster after the amazing somewhere only we know....
