Oh I don't know about that - "Story Of My Life" has held up pretty well - 4-5-8 - with all the new entries above it each week

Several of 1D's singles have had very decent chart runs, so they certainly aren't "all front loaded".

I don't know whether I should be ashamed of it or not but I've actually liked quite a few 1D songs. This one certainly isn't rubbish.

Pointless for the singles chart as the sales won't count until next Sunday but it seems this strategy works at selling albums if we look at Eminem. The albums top10 at the mo on pre orders & could do over 100k next week.

 

Brill to see Awolnation hitting the top 40 again, it was record of the day on radio 1 today!

I'd say only Gotta Be You (and One Thing but that was post album) was frontloaded out of all their singles. Live While We're Young dived quickly but ended up stabilising a bit with the gift card effect and has sold 300k+ so hasn't done badly at all. The rest have all had pretty decent chart runs I think!

You are correct, the new tracks will be able to chart next week when the album is out. Its the same lady gaga/eminem situation

As a separate note so glad Lily Allen is back on top, (taking the OneD track out of the equation) let's hope Gary Barlow starts trailing off

'Somewhere Only We Know' has already closed half the gap. 'Diana' isn't going to stick around any longer than 'Dope' did (and neither will the other 2, although I imagine all 3 of them will make #1 on iTunes).

Has it been mentioned that will.i.am's 'Bang Bang' on the Now album, is supposedly the studio version of Leah McFall's version? I wonder why she's not been credit just to get people to notice the track? It's currently #114 which is slightly higher than I thought it would be, but I think if people were made aware this could have been top 50/at least as high as Lily Allen currently is from that album.
