Disappointed with the Ella Eyre and Sam Smith inclusions though, thought that was pretty much a thing that they'd appeared on top 20s before (both appearing on a #1 infact), so they didn't appear here.

Oh, guess features must not be included in 'artist cannot have a top 20 hit' then if Sam and Ella made it.

That's actually an extremely good list. BANKS, Chance, Chlöe, FKA twigs, Sam Smith, SAMPHA (!!1!) and Say Lou Lou  More on there than usual that I've never heard of though.

Sam Smith has this wrapped up then i reckon. Can see him being joined by Ella, Sampha, Twigs and Chloe Howl/Banks in the top 5.

no Lulu James :(

They changed the rules this year to allow guest vocalists to be featured. A bit suspect, I might add.

Anyway, I thought that featuring on #1 singles and Mercury nominated albums would still exclude them on the grounds of notability.

Ella & Sam aside, that's a very under-the-radar list (so I guess job well done really!). Really surprised at the lack of Laura Welsh though.

Banks or FKA Twigs for the win please. Would be ridiculous if Ella/Sam won considering they've had massive #1s already

Banks must win this now if there's any justice.

Quite a crappy list this year to be honest.

I really feel like it's BBC trying to latch (no pun intended) onto an obvious success, seeing as they haven't really had a big one in 2012 and 2013. Disappointed.

Technically already successful, but I'm glad to see Sam Smith and Ella Eyre on the list. Looking forward to listening to them all in the coming weeks, George Ezra is great too; saw him supporting Tom Odell in October.
Crap list, the only acts I like Say Lou Lou, Chlöe and BANKS, Sam Smith and Ella Eyre I can take or leave it.

It feels like Sam Smith's popularity has already been fading away so it'll be strange if he wins! Hozier should be on here!

These acts are mostly all blog friendly but with little chance of mainstream success. I love them but Say Lou Lou are never going to have a hit single.

Banks needs to win! It's not the best list we could have, normally I'd be supporting Sam Smith but it feels like he's been big already and it'd just be defeating the point. Chloe could be good too, otherwise I either don't know much/any of their solo stuff or I haven't been won over by what I have heard.

Say Lou Lou in particular, I should have at least a passing appreciation for them but they're just really quite DULL.

CHANCE THE RAPPER! He won't win but I hope he does.

If not him, then BANKS for me.

Couple Chance the Rapper tracks if anyone is interested.

I know songs from 6 people on the list this year. Probably the most ever.

He was on James Blake's recent single too.

I like that the list doesn't have an act that is 3 members or more. Quite interesting to know.

I've heard quite a few of those, the following I've charted (highest peaking song):

Sam Smith (#2 in Nov 2012 w/Disclosure "Latch")

Sampha (#7 in Jan 2012 w/SBTRKT "Hold On")

Chance The Rapper (#9 in Nov 2013 w/James Blake "Life Round Here")

Banks (#15 in Sep 2013 "Waiting Game")

I think Chloe Howl has been close to making the chart a few times too.
