How on earth does like a song like that make people "stupid"? I've liked a lot of the winners' singles so far.

Because we don't know who the winner or what the song is. How can you pre-order a song you don't even know? It's utter madness imo.

My thoughts exactly. But people who pre-order those singles must be fans of the show more than fans of the acts?

1016. Sam Bailey - X Factor 2013 - The Edge of Glory

much better

It just goes to show how stupid people are! I'm not expecting anything more than another dull, poorly produced, generic cover of a good song.

We didn't even get that last year, it was a dull, poorly produced, generic cover of a dull song

People might like all three of the remaining acts? And let's face it, you said it yourself, it's not hard to guess what the song will sound like.

Assuming this applies to the UK as well as the USA/other countries, Bieber is releasing an album (called 'Journals') next week containing all 10 Music Mondays songs and 5 new songs. But for some bizarre reason the album is only going to be on sale for <3 weeks (until 2 Jan). Very strange and pointless.

Yeah, it is strange. But I don't think it's pointless, since they'll probably get a good amount of sales from it, whilst not having to spend much money to promote it, like they have to do with normal albums.

Also, the fans that bought all 10 tracks can probably "Complete My Album" and get Journals really cheap.

The video for "Hey Brother" has just been released so maybe it might still have a chance for No. 1 this week

And Leona still gainig fast, if Lily Allen had not gotten the boost from X-Factor "One more sleep" would be challenging for the top spot

Plus I think this is down to it being officially announced it's a single where profits will be going to charities.

This just reminded me, we didn't get an X Factor Finalists charity single this year (did we get one last year?). The first-week sales of it seemed to be declining year-on-year, so if they had released one this year I think it might have missed #1.

I think the X Factor winners single will sell in the 300,000-400,000 range first week this year. I think it will sell less than James Arthur's single, but more than Little Mix's since it's for charity.

Glad to see Leona in the top 3 on iTunes! Really happy for her. Hope she can maintain it for a couple of days and get two weeks in the official top ten from this.

 3 Leona Lewis - One More Sleep

Still climbing! It would be amazing if it managed to get to #2, but Avicii is also climbing again so Leona could miss out!

Woo so happy for Leona, I just hope it can manage Top 5 officially!
Keep going Leona, i have never backed a Leona track as much as this one.

The 'pointless' was in reference to the fact it's being deleted again in the new year :P I don't really see how that'd be a benefit, you could say it's forcing his fans to buy it within that period but let's face it, anyone who cares is going to anyway (see: all of his Music Monday releases)

As of 2012 the winner's single is now the annual charity single and the finalist ensemble releases have ended. Thankfully. One horrible XF cover hitting #1 with massive sales at the end of each year is quite enough (although as you say the finalist singles got much less popular each year and probably would have stopped making #1 pretty soon).

Looks like I may have scoffed too soon last week when someone suggested Leona might get to #1.

It is still strange to buy something on the basis that you like what's producing it and you have a vague idea of what it will be like. I wouldn't pre-order a Britney single I'd never heard, no matter how much info I had about it.

Amazed One More Sleep is at #3 on iTunes! So happy with that! Glad an original Christmas song that she co-wrote is doing so well! She looks so beautiful in the video too! This will be her 10th top 10 UK single :D

Hoping 'Thunder' can finally make the top 20 after that performance on the Royal Variety Show. She was brilliant.
This pretty much just shows that Leona still needs to rely on X-Factor for success. She'd probably have been out of the top 40 if she hadn't performed last night.

Don't be daft. She was increasing in sales right up to X Factor. She was around number 24 and on 25% of number 1. She'd definitely have climbed to top 20 by today, but she certainly wouldn't have gone top 10 without the performance.
